NORWALK, Ohio – After sitting all day Friday watching it rain, Greg Stanfield finally was able to get the Nitro Fish/Coffman Tank Truck Pro Stock GP down a dry Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park track Saturday on both qualifying attempts – but not as quick as he hoped.
Stanfield’s best elapsed time of the day came in his first quarter-mile lap, 6.22 seconds at 207.82 mph, but it left him an unenviable 16th in Sunday’s starting line-up. His second run was a few ticks slower, 6.625 seconds
Stanfield meets Erica Enders (No. 1, 6.585 at 209.10 mph) in Sunday’s opening round.
