When I pick up a 16 stop Rent A Center load out of Dallas like I have now or a however many stop load of cabinets in Martinsville, both going to the northeast, I simply put addresses into mapquest and write out directions from stop to stop before I leave the house. If it's a stop I've never been to, I'll call to double check that my directions sound good to them. After that, there's ALWAYS room for an error or two.

Like the other Rent A Center store I delivered to in the Philly area the other week. The guy says "Pass our store, then go make a U-turn 'somewhere' and come back to park in the street to unload in front of the store."

LOL, "Hey Garmin. Where's the best place for me to make an illegal U-turn on this street with 75 ft of tractor trailer?" :eek: "While you're at it, make sure it's in a spot that will tick off the maximum number of people who are convinced that they're in a much bigger and more important hurry than I am when they have to wait!" :D

Forget I said anything:rolleyes::D

I just surfed some websites, and you need software with these things? Or just the advanced models??? There are soo many options out there, hard to find what you REALLY need!

Ours is pretty basic, no software or anything. I guess you check the Magellan website once in awhile for updates, and you can upload with a USB cable. It has a small memory card, not sure if you can put that into a card reader and do your updates that way or not.

I just recently bought a Nextar M3-MX at Advance Auto Parts on sale for $89. It came with stylus, carrying case, windshield mount, car charger, house charger, and USB cord for updates. Ready to go out of the box--day screen, night screen, points of interest, etc, will accept SD card with mp3s or will show jpegs from the sd card. I know it is not a very high dollar unit, but if you are just wanting to find out what GPS technology is all about and don't want to invest a lot, I highly recommend it. It can find my house out in the country in between gravel roads, figures ETA and constantly updates it, and shows ground speed. Like I said, not a big name GPS, but not a big price tag either. I used it a lot during our trip to Denver for the Mile His.

Can you buy just a stylus somewhere??? Maybe a dumb question, but our Magellan didn't come with one, so I do the finger tap which is kind of a pain sometimes.

And our has the night screen as well, and could probably get me to the left wing meeting house in the country back roads of Nebraski, where I could meet all 3 of them...:D

Went to the Garmen website, the 350 must have been replaced because there are NO 300 series models listed!

I had no problem finding any of the 300 series on their website. The 350 has indeed been replaced by the 360, the only difference between the 2 is the 360 integrates Bluetooth for hands free cell operation.

I forgot to mention the thing I love the most about my Nuvi is that it EASILY fits in my pocket and is truly handheld/portable. The only thing I wish about my Nuvi is a longer life battery ... I get 3.5-4 hours per charge.

Link to the 360:

EDIT: it appears the 360 has a Lithium Ion battery rated to 8 hours per charge thereby solving my only complaint. May be time for an upgrade ...
