While in Seattle Reinhart was showing me his Garman 2700(?). Anyway that's the First time I've seen those work and they are amazing! Anybody use them and have some suggestions?

Prices have dropped like a rock, that's for sure. I got a basic one from Magellan for $300 last year, works very well.

I use a Garmin 496 and I love it! It is a GPS that you can use not only in your car, but for flying as well! It gives you live weather, any new changes to flight restrictions (such as when Bush comes to town the restricted airspace around Waco triples) and gives live traffic on the roads (although I havent used it for that yet). Its a bit pricey at $2700, but its so worth the money when you need it! I just bought a Garmin Nuvi 2000 for my wife to use and it is very easy to use and has a very large screen thats easy to see.
If I didnt have the 496 I would be more than happy with the Nuvi unit

I got a free Magellan 1200 Roadmate a couple months ago, and it has come in very handy for navigating the Bay Area if we venture over that way. Definitely worth the money!!

My wife just got a new Blackberry phone & it came with a free 30 day trial of AT&T's GPS service. It was really handy when we were in San Fransisco on vacation. It also gave us live traffic updates & told us there was back ups in x amount of miles.
The features I liked most was rerouting if you missed a turn, live traffic updates & spoken directions.

I recently bought a Garmin Nuvi 350. Got it at Printers, GPS Navigation, Projectors, Scanners & Electronics | pcRUSH.com brand new for $221 +$8 for S/H. Has everything I want. Love it and it's really come in handy for the trip I'm on right now. If you want to find a restaurant in the area you're in, you just push the "Food" button after touching the "Where to?" button and it lists all the restaurants in your vicinity. Same for Lodging, Fuel, etc. Best of all, it's been very simple to use.

My new Vette came with Navigation from GM and it rocks! I agree with all that has been said. It may have cost a bit more than the other units on the market but I personally guarantee it's way more fun to use than any of those hand-held units.

I have a tom tom go720, 299 from sams club. I spent last week in Washington state traveling the area. It worked awesome. never got lost. If you get one, make sure to spend some goo money on it for the support.

My Dad has VZNavigator from Verizon Wireless. He was taking a trip to the west coast, and wanted one that he could use with the bike, so we saw the flyer in the Verizon bill (after he chewed me out for my phone bill being 200 bucks a month) and decided 10 more bucks a month wasn't going to kill him.

He thinks it's great, it'll find where you are at an then if you ask it to find the nearest gas station near that point, and it'll give you gas prices (not always exact but close enough).

It fits in his pocket and in the pocket in his Goldwing.

Only downside is that if you don't have Verizon signal, you don't have GPS, but Verizon's coverage is pretty good so he says it's not that big of an issue.

I have a Garmin Nuvi 350 and I could not live without it. As most of you know, I travel every week for work and the Nuvi has been a life saver on many occasions. I also travel for leisure and I used it last week salmon fishing in Alaska, I have used it to navigate all around Baja California Mexico and as far south as St. Lucia, Aruba and Barbados.

If you buy the full version of the Nuvi software, it has an MP3 player, picture viewer, games, language translator and measurement converter. It also has a SD memory slot, and you can download map updates.

If you want to get really in depth with your GPS unit, you can do the modern equivalent of treasure hunting known as GeoCaching. I have done it a few times (abondoned gold mines in AZ and silver mines in NV). Website @ Geocaching - The Official Global GPS Cache Hunt Site

Went to the Garmen website, the 350 must have been replaced because there are NO 300 series models listed!

We have 4 Garmin Nuvi 650's in our family. Bought one, loved it. Bought one for my kid, the other one needed one. Just bought my parents one...

They are amazing, the thing I like about this one is the fact that it announces street names (not just "turn in 200 feet", but "turn in 200 feet onto Mulberry Street"). Great stuff.

I have a Magellan RoadMate 2000. Love it...it's gotten me out of many a wrong turn when driving the streets of Philadelphia.

Magellan RoadMate 2000 GPS Navigation System (Refurbished) from Overstock.com

Bought mine about 2 years ago when they were about $400. Look how cheap they are now ;)

Which is where I'm going to be tomorrow morning, making a delivery to a Rent A Center store that I've never been to. :D Later that evening, among other stops, I'll have the pleasure of doing the same thing in Newark, NJ.

I resisted them at first because without giving me truck routing and low bridge info, one would be useless. Someone told me the other day that they have truck routing options now. I'm probably the first person who should have one and I'll probably be the last! :D

In what year will I be able to pick one up at the checkout line for five bucks? Next to the digital wristwatches that were hundreds of bucks in the 70s! :D

The time saved is well worth it.

I have the Garmin c350 and c330.

one for me, one for Lisa.

I no longer use a map and have virtually no need for directions of any sort.

As you know, I used to drive a truck.

If you were, say, to get to where you would see a "low bridge" sign, you simply avoid it and the GPS redirects you

My Garmin's cost a total of $330.00 including shipping for both, Amazon.com.

In my business I constantly need to find addresses, and undoubtedly have saved bucooo (sp?) time and money.

the cost for you to wait, will no way be worth it.

Have I EVER steered you wrong????.........:D

When I pick up a 16 stop Rent A Center load out of Dallas like I have now or a however many stop load of cabinets in Martinsville, both going to the northeast, I simply put addresses into mapquest and write out directions from stop to stop before I leave the house. If it's a stop I've never been to, I'll call to double check that my directions sound good to them. After that, there's ALWAYS room for an error or two.

Like the other Rent A Center store I delivered to in the Philly area the other week. The guy says "Pass our store, then go make a U-turn 'somewhere' and come back to park in the street to unload in front of the store."

LOL, "Hey Garmin. Where's the best place for me to make an illegal U-turn on this street with 75 ft of tractor trailer?" :D "While you're at it, make sure it's in a spot that will tick off the maximum number of people who are convinced that they're in a much bigger and more important hurry than I am when they have to wait!" :D
