Government Sponsorship

Even though I love all motorsports, considering how far in debt we are in this country, I think banning government sponsorship of sporting events is a no brainer. $650K to sponsor a race that got zero recruits pretty much says it all.

I'm pretty sure the Army's goal is not to recruit people at the race, that would be kinda ridiculous. their objective, just like any other advertisement, is to probably plant a seed in one's brain. In the advertising industry, there's a term for that, which escapes me right now.

There are the key sentences. It's all about the demographics.

Army analysis found better value in producing "leads," prospective recruits, by sponsoring National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) events, including drag racing.

"Currently, only 5% of the NASCAR audience is made up of 18-24 year old males," Davis' memo says. "NASCAR is the highest cost per qualified lead and cost per engagement property

Brand Awareness?

Not sure if that's what you meant, as advertising and the like have many many many terms that all mean basically the same thing..."sell stuff".

The sponsorship money Schumacher receives is no different than the money spent on the Blue Angels and the Thunderbirds. The only real difference is the hardware showcased in the presentation. Effectivity is in the message carrier, and I think all three groups do an excellent job selling the service they represent to their target audience.

Money well spent.

Speaking of which, the Blue Angels are in town this weekend for an air show. They've been tearing up the skies all day practicing, they are badass.

I have no information on the Army deal but looking at this year's car the Army scheme doesn't appear to be as prominent as it once was.

the army deal is unique because in tony the army found the perfect dancing partner.....i'm sure they love what he does for them
and i'm sure he loves the role he plays in their recruitment strategy.
