I'll be pullin' into town Thursday afternoon, and will most likely be looking to feast like a Viking when I get there. Just wondering if anyone knows of any 'must visit' restaurants in the area. Thank you! :D

Corey

We always hit Hooters right down the road from the strip...lol....

suggest getting on twitter nd hit up Todd Bodine or one of the Cup guys that live there.. they will gladly tell you where the best places to eat are...

This will be my 6th trip to zMax (I think), and I don't know of any "gotta go to" places. There are tons of restaurants all within a couple miles of the racetrack, which is really nice, but they are pretty much all chains (Buffalo Wild Wings, Applebees, Hooters, Texas Roadhouse, etc).

Thanks guys, good info. Chain restaurants are generally a safe bet when travelling.

Corey, like Mike said, there are plenty of places to eat just down the street from the track. If you have time the one thing that is pretty cool to do is visiting some of the Nascar shops. In fact earlier today I was sitting in Danica Patricks lounge in the race hauler inside of Dale Jr's shop in Mooresville Nc. Their race shops are pretty awesome. If you need directions to Penske, Joe Gibbs, Jr motorsports, or Hendricks, just stop by our trailer and I will give you directions. But if you don't have the time to go sight seeing, I will have a lot of pics from their shops on one of my albums in the next few weeks. Cya in Charlotte.

Thanks for the tip, Eugene. That sounds pretty cool, and I should have time as I am staying into early next week. I'll stop by and say hello! Thanks again,
Corey

You could try the Penguin, South 21 and Price's Chicken Coop. Not chains, but pretty good. All have web sites, so you could find them. Welcome to Charlotte.

David, I just looked up those websites, and I'll definitely be checking out at least one of those! Thank you, and I'm looking forward to getting to Charlotte!

There a pretty good steakhouse in the same area as Hooter's and the other restaurants close to the track called Texas Land and Cattle. Along the lines of Outback and Texas Roadhouse, just somewhere I haven't seen anywhere else.

Thank you. I took a look at their menu, and saw Smoked Sirloin  Im There!

let's remember MM, as a crew member you don't have the luxury to sight see like us fans do!

Razoo's, near Concord Mills, bout a mile down Bruton Smith Blvd from the strip. Great cajun food. Can't vouch for whether or not it's authentic, but I'll be there after Q2 on Friday.

Boardwalk Billy's is fairly close to Brutonworld, a little over 5 miles.

If your looking for Italian, check out Ciro's, it's essentially next door to Boardwalk Billy's. They share the same crappy parking lot w/others. Been a while since I've been there, but everytime it's always been goood!

Ciro's Italian Restaurant menu

In Front of Concord Mills:
On The Boarder
Applebee's
TGI Friday's
Razzoo's Cajun Cafe
Sticky Fingers
Steak 'n Shake

On Lyles Ln:
Sonny's BBQ
Carrabba's Italian Grill
Ruby Tuesday
Cracker Barrell
Texas Land & Cattle Steakhouse

On Weddington Rd:
Iron Thunder Saloon
SBB Smokehouse
Tsunami Japanese Steakhouse
Waffle House

On Gateway Ln:
Hooters
Five Guys
Quaker Steak & Lube
Sonic
Texas Roadhouse
Zaxby's

I'm sure I missed a few, but hopefully this helps.

Wow Kieth, Thank you very much! That's way better than any google search results. Ciro's Italian sounds pretty good! :)

If you've watched Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, here's a list of places they've featured on the show in Charlotte. They've been to a few.

Diners Drive-ins and Dives North Carolina

Each link features a clip of the show about the shop. I'll usually take a local place over a national chain anytime.
