It is great. I will be there during speed week. There are three or four good casino hotels on the Nevada side of Wendover, but you better have your room now.

I figure I gotta go to this at least once!!! Everything I've heard about it is it's awesome!

Or you could just watch the movie(s) or documentaries. A great movie about Bonneville and the Land Speed Record trials is "The World's Fastest Indian" which I think I recall you have seen but others night not. I know...put this in The Lounge. Seriously, is Doug Herbert gonna make this years trials? When is it?

Aw man Joe! You lucky b--t--d! And ya know, I have never seen a bad photo of anything from the salt! The light comes from everywhere! I can't wait for your first 1000 shot photo album!

WARNING! I have a friend here who went to B,ville a few years ago. Flew out, rented a car. His friends who were racing a 200 MPH Camaro advised him to take a large sheet of Vis-Kween to cover the carpeting, and to have a huge stash of quarters on hand to use at the spray wash BEFORE he took his rental car back. Seems they are hip to the speed-weekers driving the car out on the salt. He did as he was told, and didn't have to pay any extra for returning a salty rental. Ask around, I'm sure you know some guys who are regulars at B'ville. Have fun!

I lucked out and got a Room at the Wendover Motel6, I've heard Dark Sunglasses, Sun Hat, and Long Pants are a Must! Plus buy a cheap cooler for Beer and Water!!

Not sure there. All the photos I've seen, people are in short sleeve T's and shorts.

I have seen people there in Shorts as well, but I was told to MAKE SURE you sunscreen every possible place the Sun will burn! And the includes the Short and Curlys if you know what I mean! I heard about one guy that got Burnt down there something Fierce! And I'm not sure I wanna go there!:eek::eek:

Bob is right... you'd save yourself some cleanup time with some HEAVY plastic on the floorboars. One more tip... take a resealable bag and a tie wrap to use on each pedal of the rental car.

A Speedweek veteran on another board told me to bring some disposable rags to clean my pants and shoes when getting in the car. Also wear some pants you don't need, cause they get trashed!

Another one I heard is use plenty of sunblock under your chin, nose, and every other place, as the sun reflecting FROM the salt will burn you as quick as the sun in the sky.

I can't wait to see B'ville pics from Joe the Master!
