Got his DOB from an article in the Eastern Motorsport Press Assoc. Hall Of Fame.Bob Frey was born in 1950, making him 76 this year
Bob is a real nice kid.Got his DOB from an article in the Eastern Motorsport Press Assoc. Hall Of Fame.
Yeah, none of the were happy obviously.Well, Prock got off to a very bad start and will be watching tomorrow. Wonder how Tasca is feeling?
Back in the day I was told his birthday was September 24, 1946 I think the 1946 number is correct. He's just a kid!Bob Frey was born in 1950, making him 76 this year
I know someone who has both JFR and AJPE heads/manifolds and blowers, they do flow differently. I wonder if that's the problem or if they need new pipe? That's the same car that Bob was having all the inconsistent troubles with last year. TASCA/Prock have to be bummed out especially with them having Eric Trump in their pits. I wonder if the Procks are thinking if they did the right thing? Only time will tell.Well, Prock got off to a very bad start and will be watching tomorrow. Wonder how Tasca is feeling?
So who oiled the starting line and just when did it happen? I only missed Qualifying Rd. 2. Sounds like sour grapes?Yeah, none of the were happy obviously.
I have nothing against Austin by any means. But he put some of the blame of oil being on the track, specifically at the starting line. I don't know. Buddy Hull's fire and oil down was well down the track and Austin spun the tires well before that. I'm sure they'll get it together.
So who has the most clutch disks now, Force or Tasca?I know someone who has both JFR and AJPE heads/manifolds and blowers, they do flow differently. Buddy Hull had a significant engine failure and fire and actually got into Terry Haddock a bit past the finish line. Hulls parachute got tangle up with Haddock. Hull had hi right hand wrapped due to slightly burning it.So who oiled the starting line and just when did it happen? I only missed Qualifying Rd. 2. Sounds like sour grapes?
So this drives me crazy, when we go to Firebird in a couple of weeks they will run qualifying in the peak heat of the day, usually like 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm ish. It seems like hardly any cars make good passes. I know many tracks have poor lighting in the shutdown but Firebird is pretty good, I just went to the shutdown showdown where they raced in the shutdown in the middle of the night. What a poor day to be a Top Fuel fan. Between Q3 and Q4 combined only TWO cars made full pulls - Maddi Gordon and Billy Torrence. And Gordon was low. (3.79) Ambient was 86 degrees, warm, but not so much so that it should have decimated nearly 30 TF passes in one day. Sounds like the track surface went on hiatus for some reason.
I'm a huge proponent of evening/night racing, noise ordinances permitting. I see no reason why they can't run Q1 and Q3 at 4pm; Q2 and 4 at 7pm. Don't want to get too late; high humidity and dew often set in if you wait too long. Things should wrap up around 9pm and on a weekend, that shouldn't be a problem for fans to stay a bit later in order to enjoy the after-hours performance. Might try it on Sunday, too....works for NASCAR....So this drives me crazy, when we go to Firebird in a couple of weeks they will run qualifying in the peak heat of the day, usually like 1:30 pm and 4:00 pm ish. Prock is running a AJ500 which is the same as both Taska and Prock ran last year. The car is last years Taska car which could be the problem. The car Prock drove last year was a JFR built car. I wouldn't write them off, they will get it figured out sooner or later - with a new car.So who has the most clutch disks now, Force or Tasca?![]()
Terry with all due respect Tasca is a AJPE customer while all the JFR cars use the JFR500 which they developed when they were with Ford and are made at Force American Made in Brownsburg, IN. Both are clones to the 426 Chrysler Hemi however the cylinder heads, intake manifolds and blowers flow differently. It was originally called the Ford 500 when John left Ford and went to Chevy it became the Chevy 500. As you pointed out the Tasca/Prock car is the same one the BTIII was inconsistent with last year (and kept blaming the crew for) which leads me to believe they need new pipe ASAP.Prock is running a AJ500 which is the same as both Taska and Prock ran last year. Have seen in the past that Taska's dad (Bob Taska ll) was not happy when Bob lll had a real bad day. Hope he wasn't at the track today after spending all the money to get the Procks and then they don't qualify.
No we don’t.Now we just need his dad out at the races!!!
