Drivers in both the Pro Modified and Pro Stock classes will have added incentive to compete at all 2009 IHRA Nitro Jam national events. Participants in both classes will receive complimentary car and driver entries as well as three free crew entries for the entire 2009 slate.

“Pro Stock and Pro Modified are among the most popular classes at all IHRA Nitro Jam national events and this was a way to reward these teams for building these classes into something special,” IHRA senior director of competition racing operations Mike Baker said. “They have elevated these classes through their hard work and dedication, so we are paying them back with complimentary car and driver entries as well as three crew passes. Also, in the current economic climate this is a time they probably need it most.”

2009 IHRA Nitro Jam season will kick off at State Capitol Raceway in Baton Rouge, Louisiana March 6-8.

this is just gonna cause problems cause they are doing this to entice the PS and PM guys not to leave....so all it's gonna do is make the guys that stayed loyal to IHRA in the other classes wonder "why not us too?"

What Mike said....lol...

The strongest rumor has them going to 8 car fields for next year... when will that come out if its true or not...???....

Also. rumor ..sort of... is that 2 of the top 5 in PM points won't be back ..headed to the JEGS PRO MODS next year.... one i know for a fact won't be there...

Couple PS teams have talked about following the ADRL ProStock events...or trying the 10.5 class....

Guess they are doing what they can to save themselves.. hopeing someone will show to the events to give some kind of a show....might make some good times for some local non touring racers..... but there is also a rumor of no quailifing moneys.... hopefully that isn't true....
