15 time world champion and now, 10 time US Nationals champion. NHRA names the track Bob Glidden Drive?

he's not 15x World Champion...yet, needs to win Maple Grove and This weekend at E-town for the Cecil County Completion.
Definitely not a lock yet ... but we'll see. Manzo has the points lead coming out of Indy.
- Bartone and Manzo both have 4 National Event wins (claim best 5). They both have Round 1 losses at Nationals they can improve on or erase.
- Manzo has 4 divisional wins with a Round 1 loss to improve on. He has 2 chances this coming weekend of getting a perfect Division score.
- Bartone only has 2 division wins with Round 1 and Round 2 losses to improve on. He has already competed in 6 divisional races of the 8 he is allowed. There are 2 races remaining in D4 so I would imagine he would stay in his "home" division but he needs to win them and tht would only give him 4 wins like Manzo.

My mistake on the 15X Champ. Frank doesn't hide from anyone. Where has Bartone been all year? I wouldn't bet against Frank.

I would never take anything away from anyone in any of the Sportsman categories, but lets face it, Glidden raced in Pro Stock which is considered a professional category while Manzo races in Top Alcohol Funny Car which isn't considered a professional category - Not a show-stopper, but a consideration. Also, and probably more important, Glidden is from Indiana while Manzo resides in New Jersey... Perhaps Old Bridge Township Raceway Park, where Manzo has won once or twice also, may want to name that length of cement and asphalt Manzo Drive?

Such a shame T Bone lost early, would have been a great race!
Morganville & Matawan are minutes away so it's certainly apropo.

What does that have to do with IRP, where Manzo is the ONLY ten-time champion?

Manzo should also be recognized at E-town, as well as Maple Grove.

I answered that when I said Bob Glidden was, a) a professional, and more importantly, b) from Indiana - Which happens to be where IRP is located. Thus, the naming of Bob Glidden Drive at IRP. I could add that Glidden is also retired from driving, which is when most - not all, but most - dedications are made, while Manzo is still very much active.
That said, since Manzo is from NJ (where Raceway Park is located) and he's won a lot of races there (I don't know the number, but I know it's a lot) it would seem more appropriate to dedicate that track to him... if one were to dedicate that track to anyone.
If the only statistic for dedicating a track after a driver were wins, it could get monotonous rather quickly. I believe the naming of Bob Glidden Drive had more to do with the fact that Glidden was a successful Hoosier than it had to do with wins only.

See my other post regarding E-town and Maple Grove. The fact remains that Frank is the ONLY 10 time US Nationals champ, so why shouldn't he be recognized for it?
PS: I have no objection to Glidden.
I remember sitting in the Indy stands in '79.
A possibly less than virtuous young lady came up the steps asking "Does anyone know where can I find "ACE" Manzo?"
I'll leave that comment where it is after all these years for others to explain
but , on this day,
"ACE" Manzo is INDEED, the all - time INDY WINNER!
