Fox Buys Into Penske Entertainment

Under_Pressure

The big news in the racing world today is Fox buying 1/3 of Penske Entertainment, i.e. the Indycar series, Indy 500, and IMS itself. No reason to think it imminently impacts NHRA's broadcast situation as Fox has already been broadcasting Indycar this year, but they (Indycar) will definitely be a high priority for Fox going forward. Will have to see how that impacts their other motorsports properties.

wow. indycar doesn't do that much better in ratings than nhra, but having every single race on the national network will sure improve that.
i guess any weekend we could follow indy car on the nat. network could only help? even if it's slightly tape delayed.

Well indycar is the fastest cars on the planet, you think coverage is bad now, wait till this takes over, nhra on the backburners even more now. Fox is way worse than espn ever was,fox and whoever does nhra's programming should be fired. At least espn has sounds of the strip,we cant have that now bc announcers want to hear themselves yapp

heard a news story on this this morning. apparently penske entertainment approached fox on this.
pretty smart move ...... how do you attract more sponsors? get your ratings up. wish nhra would have done this first.
