That next year paint scheme not running this weekend only making the announcement. He is running the 16 time championship car during qualifying this weekend Castrol car on sunday

So Peak is his huge sponsor announcement??? Am I missing something here?? Isn't Peak old news??

I think Peak has been rumored for awhile, but the force camp hasn't made the official announcement as of yet. Suppose to have a big announcement in Vegas and at the sema show that will be in Vegas

I'm sure you're right, Andy. Guess I'm just a little cynical about this great big announcement that has already been announced 3 or 4 months ago...but that's just me;)

Well any sponsor that moves from an associate level to a major position is newsworthy , IMO. I think everyone needs to re-think they're expectations about sponsor deals. 2 of the sport's biggest and longest running, Castrol and Bud, both started very small and grew over 30 years. That's not going to happen very often, if ever again. So if Force has to have multiple partners trading major signage over the season, to me, that's probably the way of the future. The key is to stay out there, it's harder to find possible "anchor" deals if you're parked.

I hear you, Terry. However, in this day and age of instant information, social media, etc., it's pretty much impossible to keep any sort of announcement or news under wraps (i.e. the Connolly/BVR deal), nor do teams seem to keep things much of a secret anymore. Short of a direct conflict of interest that could risk a current contract, PR reps, teams, and sponsors know that the sooner the press the better the press. So, to me, it's not even worth being cynical anymore. Teams receiving, and sponsors willing to put the money out there deserve the right to still have a proper announcement/presser.

Damn, Andy. There you go being logical, thorough, and persuasive. Makes it that much harder for me to defend my observations fueled by the simple fact that I'm sick of all the Force hoopla. Everything you say is true, and my logical side agrees wholeheartedly. The other side, the cynical side, needs to quiet down and just watch it all happen! Well said, sir! I always enjoy reading the work of a fellow wordsmith!

People complain about "all the Force hoopla", but what's that old saying about there's no such thing as bad press? Maybe if one of the other teams had a story line that was half as interesting as the Force family racing story we'd hear more about them!

Heck, alot of the DSR cars have had multiple sponsors for a couple of years now, whats the Big deal, so Peak may be stepping up for so many races? It's the way it's going to be in the future.

When I buy coolant, I pretty much went with Prestone products. Peak may be looking to make a big name for themselves with his sponsorship......I know I'll switch...

BTW....nitro motors don't use coolant:confused:
