Which will we see more of this weekend:
John's old Dallas crash

or

Savoie yappin about chickens and gators?

Not like anything else will be newsworthy...

(Good Luck Alexis on your debut... Hope you get SOME air time...)

one vote for chickens and gators....mcmillen should have a piece
of this too...i mean, come on, he's got the biggest gator on the property ;)

hope the patron car get's a little coverage too.
too bad it's nfl season; gonna' guess if the nhra has plus or minus .15 - .2
in nielsen ratings, the minus side wins now that football has started.....
another good reason to have sat. night countdown races in fall.

Of note:
  • Friday and Sunday ESPN3.com webcasts! Filler is at a minimum. Last Friday's webcast was FANTASTIC!
  • No ESPN2 telecast on Saturday due to so many college football games
  • the qualifying show will be on at 1:30am ET Sunday morning and again on Sunday afternoon at 2pm ET
  • There are WNBA playoff games before the Sunday elims telecast at 7pm ET
  • The WNBA games are alotted only 2 hours each which is probably not enough time, thereby pushing back the Sunday telecast
  • After all of this, you will probably not care anymore

*times subject to change

I expect that the Dejoria car should come out of the trailer looking like it's been run all year, and will be "right there" in qualifying with the car Jeff Arend drives - and will get on the ladder for Sunday. Her car could play a "blocker" role. As for past Dallas TV coverage.....I'm old school.... I want to see highlights like Eddie Hill crying in the press room, Scott Kalitta qualifying in TF and FC, the Force-Pedregon 1/4 mile pedal fest, The Ed McCullough 5.13 pass, or maybe Gary Ormsby's butt-ugly,but-Unbelievably-fast gray primered top fueler. For bonus footage, Les Shockey's tri-engine Jet Peterbilt burning off the face of the tower signange wold be nice too. And those are the easy ones to remember...:D

Those are great moments, Chris... Too bad the focus will only be on two subjects, if that many...:(

I always hold out hope that the Producers of the broadcast will someday realize that they have SIXTY PLUS YEARS of subject matter to choose from when building these shows, and should balance their filler with news of the day that occurs every week (I SO miss TNN's broadcasts that had NHRA Today...)

Along with some of the older footage (90 seconds just isn't enough) I hope that Karen Stoffer gets some more coverage, she is in a tight battle for her 1st National Championship. Her, Gary and Their team have worked so hard for so many years........And believe me, I'm not that Big of a PSM Fan, but I am a Stoffer friend and fan (always have been :-)

Me too. I don't go to the "big show" events anymore, but if she is in the hunt and it comes down to the finals, I will make the drive to Pomona.

I loved that car!!

Me too although he beat Amato for the championship in 89. :D

Actually, I don't even think it was primer, it was just decals on a metal body.
That silver car was his 4th car of the year.

The first 89 car had the wing come down and the car went ass over tea kettle in Sonoma. With only one week 'till Seattle, he bought a car from Larry Minor and ran decent there, then went to Brainerd and rode a wheelie into the wall taking that car out. Went and got his 87 car (shortie) and ran that for a few races then came out with the new one, and it hauled ass everywhere it went.

at indy i was happy to see savoie do well and excited about a new player in PSM. then last wkend they started his chicken/gator crap and i lost interest immediately. im sure they are going to beat it to death this wkend. :(

I was at that race. Made a hell of a noise when it hit too. Looked painful. Couldn't have been much fun inside the car.
