l'm angry as well, this isn't the first time that British soldiers have been killed by US "friendly fire." US air support is very important and has often helped get British troops out of dangerous situations. If the Pilot or Weapons System Officer of the USAF F-15E Strike Eagle are found negligible. They should be withdrawn from combat duties and sent to Nellis AFB, Nevada for further training.

It's war, shit happens. What do you expect, nothing to ever go wrong in the heat of a battle? They were under attack when it happened and they're the ones that called for the risky air support to help them out. Not everything goes 100% perfectly right, expecially in war. But don't let that stop you from making your usual idiotic slams against the U.S. I wish you'd just leave this forum and take your moronic U.S. bashing with you.

Yes l know it's war. But it's always US "friendly fire" that is killing British & Coalition soldiers in lraq & Afghanistan. l still say that if the if the Pilot or Weapons System Officer of the USAF F-15E Strike Eagle are found negligible. They should be withdrawn from combat duties.

lf one of your relatives was killed by "friendly fire" wouldn't you be angry, if it was one of my relatives l'd be bloody devastated.

Let's see, we've got a fast mover coming in at 450 to 500 knots, laying in close air to ground support, without any friendlies lazing the target....

I feel bad of the kid on the ground and his family, I also feel bad for the driver and his wizzo... and their families...

War Sucks, any sane person knows that. And as a former Serviceman, I also know that when we have to go into Combat, we screwed up what our real job is, projecting power so that people don't want to fight us.

But, once it drops... we don't walk away until it's done...

Karl it was three soldiers that were killed not one, l also feel sorry for the Pilot and his Weapons System Officer, but they should be withdrawn from combat duties if found negligible.

Like you Karl l'm a former Serviceman.

So John, you're saying your troops should withdraw from combat, because sometimes things get way too up close and personal... maybe they should have called in an Indian or a Snake, instead of a fast mover if someone wasn't carrying a smart bomb with someone on the ground painting the target... but heck, iron at a target less than a quarter klick away???...

Maybe British soldiers should call in air support from the British Air force instead of relying on U.S. support. THAT is the ONLY way I see both sides being happy. Its not like these pilots set out on there mission with the intent to kill British ground troops. This is not a perfect world and we as humans are not perfect either...we sometimes make mistakes. This is war and can be chaotic at best. If my father or son ormyself were to die in a hostile war zone of course we as relatives would be upset, but its not a vacation these soldiers are on, they are fighting a deadly war...together!!! John, stop pointing fingers at these soldiers and offer them some support...no matter which country they are from!!! They are the reason we live in a free society!!

So would you have rather the plane not come in to lend support and just let the troops die from enemy fire? Which is more acceptable to you? Would you rather the US no longer offer air or ground support to the British?

No Karl, l'm saying that the Pilot and his Weapons System Officer should be withdrawn from combat duties if found negligible. But we'll have to wait for the enquiry by the NATO International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) to be completed.

ISAF News Release #2007-610 Friendly fire incident to be investigated

John, what I'm saying is that who ever called for a fast mover for close in ground support F'd up as much or more than the Fast Mover crew... you don't want US Arty or Air because of possibility of blue on blue, provide your own... wouldn't be the first time, in the heat of a fire fight, a ground unit called in an air strike or arty on their own position...

If the driver or his Wizzo messed up, fine, take them out of the T.O., if the ground spotter screwed up, same goes for him...

John, Leaving aside the rights and wrongs of the terrible incident, can you please go away and look up what the word 'negligible' means before misusing it repeatedly?

Many Thanks
Jon Crawford

If our goverment leaders and their kids had to fight these wars they would learn to stop this shit. As long as there is war another accident like this will happen, there isn't anything 100%, it will happen again sorry to say.

Can you really know that? Aren't you posting personal opinion as fact? I don't believe in making assumptions about peoples' intentions without knowing.

I remember Bill O'Reilly threatening to kick a guest's ass on national TV for questioning his son's service.

So you honestly think that the British Military would have stopped the German Military without US help, yeah, right. If the US had just went after Japan and left you on your own, you would have been over run by Germany eventually.

John..

What happened was a tragic accident. You come across like it was intentional. Do you think they would take it back if they could? Of course they would.

Has your military ever had a friendly fire incident?

It's a tragedy, John..please don't use it as fodder to bash.
