Sugar Hill, Ga. , June 11, 2008 – The following are a few facts and figures surrounding Kurt Johnson and the ACDelco Cobalt Racing team’s victory this weekend at the O’Reilly Midwest NHRA Nationals in Madison , IL . After qualifying sixth, Johnson defeated Mike Edwards, Greg Anderson, Warren Johnson and Jeg Coughlin to score his second win of the 2008 POWERade Drag Racing Season.
- This was the 38th national event win of Kurt’s Pro Stock career, tying him with Funny Car standout Tony Pedregon (who also notched his 38th win on Sunday) and Jeg Coughlin for 13th in career victories among all professional classes.

- KJ’s 38 Pro Stock career national event wins rank fifth among all time Pro Stock career wins, one behind fourth place Coughlin.

- This was Kurt’s third national event win at Route 66 Raceway, tying him with Jason Line and Jeg Coughlin for the most by a competitor in the Pro Stock Car category.

- This was the seventh time that Kurt and Jeg had met in a final round, with KJ preserving his perfect record against the defending Pro Stock Champion. Ironically, their most recent final round meeting prior to this past weekend came at this race in 2003.

- Kurt has now won multiple national events in 11 of his 16 years in Pro Stock, complementing his 14-year streak of scoring at least one win per season, which is second behind John Force’s run of 22 years.
