ESPN voice sounds

It sounded like at times when they were talking like they were in a phone booth lol
 
The sound engineers definitely have to work on this problem, IMO. I like hearing the engines but I want to hear what the announcers are saying too. Found myself turning up the volume to hear what they were saying.

No...I'm not getting old.
 
I heard it as well.
It made me think they had forgotten to turn on the hand-held mic and all the audio was caught by the nat-sound mic on the camera.
 
Noticed at times that their voices were too low in the mix and very hard to understand over the noise of the engines.
 
It seems like the audio mix of all major sports broadcasts are geared for surround sound systems. They love the ambient mics way more than booth mics. It's getting progressively worse in the NFL and NASCAR broadcasts.
