I haven't seen Erica listed on the entries for Reading, Indy or Concord. But Jim Cunningham is.

Did she lose another Ride?

They should have done this from the beginning. Running around the country with a car that has no chance of making the show accomplished them absolutely nothing. It was an enormous waste of time and money.

Not true John, it kept her name out there. It kept her skills sharp and they had some kind of deal with DragStar. Not to mention the motivation that the Ford guys would have to get from knowing their car wasn't fast enough...yet.

My understanding is that they were planning a return in Brainerd, but now I think it's going to be Indy.

If someone has more info please share,

Alan

I disagree it was a waste of time and money. It allowed them to do some R+D for the engine parts that are coming down the pipeline ... and there is no better test than racing. I am sure they had some input on the new car too. It allowed the team to work together to get better. It got them out in front of fans and potential sponsors. They said from the start they were behind the 8 ball ... what were they supposed to do, stay home and not even try?

I have said this on here a million times, but it bears repeating: RACING IS HARD. There are a lot of good teams and people out there. You don't just show up and win, otherwise everyone would be doing it.

My hats off to Cunningham's group (including Erica) ... hope they are able to stick the program out to be rewarded for their effort. Pro Stock is definitely a more interesting world with them in it.

EDIT: tree'd by Reinhart ... you owe me a beer. :D

Entering the jump on John bandwagon;)...it was previously stated that the Cunningham performances were very much a prerequisite to the current factory involvement. I'd say, they accomplished a ton, for a number of people.

John, I think that could be said about half the Pro stock and Fuel teams out there!

not sure i agree with that as over the years, we've seen uncompetitive cars in the nitro classes kinda stumble their way into the winners circle as TF and FC performance can be such hit or miss at times. In ps a non competitive car wont even qualify let alone go any rounds so .......

They might have been able to make the Brainerd show...

They have made it very public that the first part of the year was going to be R&D for their new components, with very little expectations. I know they skipped the western swing because of building and testing a lot of the new engine components that will be coming soon. I'd even be willing to bet the farm that their performance will increase significantly at Indy and beyond. I look forward to watching her kick a lot of tail this year and beyond. I think critical to the class that she and others get back on the track...now Ritchie and Dave need to get their rides in order!
