As a long time a fan and competitor of drag racing for almost 50 years to see Shirley muldowney in the pits at her tent for Shirley's kids and was never acknowledged from NHRA on New England dragway is real disrespectful to her for her accomplishments and to the sport of drag racing

If that is true, then I would say that is unusual as in the past whenever someone like Shirley or Garlits was "in the house" at Pomona signing autographs, it would be announced numerous times over the PA. Of course maybe that was an Alan Reinhart thing, and maybe the guys who have taken over for Alan aren't as careful about doing those announcements.

I don't pretend to know what goes on in the background. Maybe it's disrespect, maybe it's miscommunication/lack of knowledge, I don't know why she wasn't acknowledged. She had a visible spot in the merchandise section, however, so it wasn't like she was hidden in some dark corner that nobody walked by.

I stopped by her booth and honestly I was shocked that she was doing EVERYTHING. Taking the order, walking back to get the merchandise, opening the package, signing the shirts/posters, collecting the cash. Maybe it was just when I was there, and she had help at other times but man...that was rough to watch. I was going to get a poster for my office but the line was too long and I simply forgot to head back there.

I stopped by her booth to tell her I really liked the episode of Tony Stewart’s TV show with her and Garlits, and how she kept Big on his toes.
She seemed very appreciative and took hold of my hand, saying, “Thank you so much.”

Didn't she make a snide remark after Forces wreck ? something about if he would of been wearing a Bell helmet he would of been OK??
She poked the wrong bear there. Force is the NHRA.
