Sorry John, you totally missed it on this one. The real question is, if you owned a company, who would you rather have selling your product to the world, EE or DC?
EE is a name known in many other main stream media outlets, far outside our little world of Drag Racing.
Just go do a quick Google search on both names, one came up with over 17,000 results, the other, just over 3,000.
Lance.... Agreed EE has her name in print more... but if a sponsor is looking to sell his product he is going to look at the demographics of the people looking at his product..
So if I were selling something that appealed to 13 - 17 yr old kids, YES I might want EE.. BUT NOT in Drag Racing.. because the majority of 15 yr olds don't watch Drags... However if I were selling something (not necessarily automotive related) but my product was geared toward an older group, & people who relate to racing, I'd HAVE to go with Dave... 1 reason he has won more rounds, and right now I think he'd be on TV more. (going more rounds)
Yes EE would get a lot of notice if she returned NOW but for how long if she failed to qualify in her first 4-5 races... Even Paul Page couldn't justify consistent talk about a driver who cant qualify.. sure she is interesting but don't you think being "Female" might have something to do with that?
Honestly being female would help any women in a Pro class... BUT for only so long.. eventually if she could not cut the mustard (see qualify) her popularity would drop..
On the other side... Dave C is a nice polite guy.. agreed he is not very outspoken like Whit Bazemore, but they (NHRA) would have to recognize him & MY PRODUCT if he was consistently in the top of the qualifers...
