had just entered hospice. you could tell in don's voice his tight connection to his long time friend.

Although ,at Crane,we were certainly competitors with Ed, he and I were good friends. Always enjoyed conversing with him.. Always pleasant, great memory. RIP, Ed.

Thinking of a few folks involved in drag racing from the beginning. CJ Pappy Hart, Isky, and more I'm not remembering. What it must have been like going from 1948 (first sanctioned drag race at Goleta) to 2026. Night & day. Fran Hernandez won that race in Goleta, later went to work for Mercury, can call him the father of the one piece F/C body.

You know Ed was famous when the NY Times writes a fairly extensive article about him! This was published on Feb 28.

That is interesting. I don't recall ever reading who exactly was behind the first one-piece FC bodies built for the factory teams.
