Fck yeah!!!!

and Todd Okuhara and Phil Shuler power Spencer to a 3.728!!!! wooo!!!

It was stuff like tonight that makes me say things like "This is why I've been going for 20 years" "This is why I love this racetrack" and "This is why Raceway Park is and always will be #1!" I'm still on such a high just off of the Capps run alone (I was literally holding the 3 fingers close to me before they staged up) I knew both in TF & FC something big was coming so when it happened it put me on such a high that I don't think I'm gonna come down until probably after the DRAW Auction tomorrow.

Not to mention I won't sleep a wink tonight that's how good I feel.

We all have our home tracks... For me, born and raised in SoCal, it started in Pomona... Then moved to Vegas and it became LVMS... Now in H-Town and it's RPR.... Having bored you with that, I may have to move to NJ to see those results to claim E-Town as 'my track' !!!! Very nice day of qualifying......

2nd that!! Tonight's session made the trip from Texas worth it! The roar from the crowd when Capps went the .96 was crazy. I was shocked with the number of people who left after the first session, their loss! Hopefully this rain gets out of here and we have another fast day tomorrow.

SportsCenter?? (cue the crickets...)

I mean, come on- what's it gonna take? I'm a huge Mets fan, but damn- E-Town was having an epic session, and it was in the same regional sports market... It's not like they didn't have cameras there...

The typical Sports Center viewer probably could care less and wouldn't understand the magnitude of those record runs. Plus, the ESPN anchors likely don't understand it either.

As a Mater, does it matter that the news didn't pick it up? Most drag racing fans knew what had happened. You can't force something to become mainstream. In todays modern technology world, our sport is easy to find and follow if you are interested. People (fans) will ultimately decide how mainstream it becomes, not NHRA or ESPN. They will capitalize on it. Look at all the things the youth of today have turned into instant mainstream sports in a very short time. X Games (ESPN) and MMA (FOX) are 2 that quickly come to mind. There was huge participant and spectator demand. Outside of Maters, show me the overwhelming demand for drag racing.
