DSR canopy.....

It has emergency outside opening provisions. It is very well proven in boats. The NHRA is just dragging its heels. If they could arrange for it to add to their income stream, it would be good already.

I may have missed it-but will the canopy require a whole new chassis-or can it be retrofitted to an exsisting one? IE: will it hurt $ the small teams needing to get new pipe?
Tough call for NHRA-do you allow it--or require it? I'm sure theres alot of "what ifs" going on.

It should retrofit...however, the $25G+ price will hurt the small budget teams...

In the article, the Designer talks about the ramifications of a fatality that his shroud could have prevented. How about the one it could contribute to ... How about an upside down dragster pinned against the wall and there is fire in the capsule? Anybody want to be the test pilot to prove how good the shroud is in that instance? I know you can't possibly test all the scenarios but, there are some that truly need to be worked through carefully. As I said a few posts back, any injury or worse related to burns or extraction time from the shroud negates any positives it may present.

Dragging their feet ... I think not.
