Ahhhh.... the Blue Laws. We still have some remnants of them in Texas. No hard liquor sales on Sunday although you can buy it by the drink in a restaurant or bar. Dealer vehicles can't be sold on both Saturday and Sunday; pick one or the other. Ignore those laws at the risk of pissing God off.

I think Skuza should show up at a national event and con a funny car team into letting him make an exhibition pass. "And the crowd went wild."

NJ use to be the same way. I was attending an Oldsmobile car show and went to a restaurant and they didn't serve alcohol but you could bring it in. As I understood alcohol license were/are hard to get and not all places have them. Another thing, I was in NJ on another trip and stopped to get fuel and got out and grabbed the pump handle and a guy starts yelling for me to quit. You can't pump your own gas there or at least at that time.

Thanks.....it was a great conversation with those fellas. Not surprisingly, their spoken English was better than most you'll find while getting waited on at a fast food restaurant nowadays. Ida was a DNQ but I was happy for them they saw her on Saturday and in her pit.

Me too. Cool car but we sure did cuss them when one came in the shop. I used to say working on a Saab will make you sob.

LOL.....yeah I have a 2004 Saab 9-3 convertible. Silver with a blue top. 2.0 Turbo, 210hp, automatic. 97.5k miles. The convertibles during that time were only made in Graz, Austria. It was imported through Tampa and spent most of its life in sunny Cal. Wish I had a pic of it to upload.

Luckily this was before GM did its most unpardonable sin (in my view) and ruined Saab. Very well built, almost to the point of over-engineered, cars before GM sunk its claws into it.

You know what Saab stands for? Something Almost Always Broken. lol Which might be a little unfair, but one thing undeniable is those cars are all leakers, esp oil.

It’s not just nitro, it’s the prices of everything in this country right now. Everything is pricing itself out of existence. Drag racing has gotten unaffordable. Nitro is just another example.

I think it still is, I have a buddy that lives in Yonkers, NY, and he was telling me it's actually against the law to pump your own gas in NJ. Some old holdover law from several decades ago, I forget the reasons for it. I think NJ is the only state left like that.
