Just saw the video of Doug's very bad crash today. In the right lane and appeared to get way out of the groove. Got sideways at the top end crossed over into the left lane thankfully behind and just missing Shane Westerffield who already had the chutes out. Incredibly hard hit into the wall at over 200 mph but thankfully was able to walk away Looked to be the best possible result from a bad situation, wishing Doug and the team the very best.

Holy cow. When the car rolled and hit the wall right at the driver's cage area it is absolutely amazing that the driver walked away. Thank goodness for the safety requirements and gear.

Almost identical to his crash at Vegas a few years ago. Sean B chimed in on this forum when it happened and explained what he thought happened:

"Doug said it got over by the wall and sailed the front end on him. In today's TAFC that is a common occurrence. He had the wheels turned to correct for the wall, finally gave up and aborted the run but the wheels were cranked to the left and it got away.
Today's TA/FC is an evil SOB just because of how violent they are on the starting line. A 5.30-5.40 car is the hardest thing I've ever driven, and WAY different than even a 5.50 car The Camaro body is less downforce...however I believe played no role in this crash."

Just glad Doug is OK!
