Has anybody heard if Mike will be back full time this season? I knew he said that 2010 was unsure as far as sponsorship.

I hope he's got something lined up for 2010.

Back for the full, 23 race schedule in 2010 "with the same car, same crew, same everything that got us to the dance last season" and backing from "several new associate sponsors" according to the Competition Plus article linked below.

EDWARDS CONFIRMS HE WILL RACE IN 2010

"DOSE Mike Edwards....???"

OMG...there is gonna be TWO OF HIM THIS YEAR??? Ahhhh man! :p

Great news. I can't believe I missed that.

Interstate, thanks for the support for Mike Edwards, who's not only a great racer but also a great role model for our youth and the next generation of upcoming racers.

I'll definitely be switching to Interstate batteries in all my personal and business vehicles.

Thanks,

Paul T.

Mike Edwards fits in great with the Christian principles espoused by Norm Miller of Interstate Batteries. Best of luck to Mike and his team.:)

Mike does seem like a good guy.

Nice of you to send "Thanks" to Interstate as well.

great news for great team.

wonder if interstate has competition in nhra this year?
last time they played, exide was in the mix.
still haven't heard anything about hagan's car?

It's great that Mike has picked up Interstate as a sponsor and I'm happy to see them getting involved in the NHRA again, but this is still only as an associate sponsor. The article states that the logo will be on the hood of Mike's car, so does this mean that A.R.T. will still be his primary with less $$$ involved?

The second linked article in this thread states:

"Interstate Batteries will serve as a predominant sponsor for the 23-race season on the 2009 NHRA Pro Stock world champion Mike Edwards Pontiac."

So it sounds like Interstate will be more than just an associate sponsor.

Long time reader...first time poster. I did the same thing. In this economy, I think it is more important than ever for sponsors to know that we care and that their support DOES influence our purchasing decisions. I didn't even realize the kind of company Interstate was until this. I will be buying Interstate from here on out!

Welcome aboard
Congrats to Mike and the team they certainly are a deserving group

Thanks for the welcome, Kevin! By the announcement, I was expecting to see something dramatically different than just a hood logo, though. Oh well, at least Mike is out there! It is a shame that a guy of his character who simply dominated and won the PS Countdown easily would have to wait until this close to Pomona to even know if he was racing. Then again, I never thought I'd see the day when The Snake would leave for any reason other than he decided it was time. Maybe he did, but I think it is safe to say his hand was forced. Either way, it is much easier for me to support Interstate than US Smokeless ;)
