And let's face it...the diving wasn't controlled by TJ or Ron, I'm sure the boss told the crewchiefs what was expected to happen, and if they valued their jobs more than their consciences, what to do.

Folks get over it, todays racing is a TEAM sport. A team would be foolish to shoot themselves in the foot and give away a shot at the Championship.
There are sponsors to please. Besides theirs dozens of ways to make a car fail, and NO WAY to prove it. Some times ya just gotta take one for
the team. I just wish NHRA would allow the teams to be straight up with the fans, and let the "dive" car just pass on the rd. Insted of trying
to pull the wool over the fans. (jmo)

With so many multi-car teams, it's nearly impossible not to run into a teammate along the way. Afterall, Erica did run into Matt Hartford, but at least he gave her a race. With that said, the jury is still out on Capps, afterall, Hight went up in smoke in the very next run in that right lane. HOWEVER, Tommy Johnson Jr. had lane choice in the semi-finals and took the right lane. That, I don't buy and I smell a rat.
I hate to see races and championships decided like that. I suppose it's karma for all the help John has given himself or team over the years to have one taken away like that.
From a business standpoint I fully get why dives happen.
As a racer, fan, competitive person and paying customer I absolutely hate to see fake racing. As if the countdown isn't bad enough at chasing me away from racing as the season goes on, knowing I only get to see scripted results makes it even worse.
Yes it's happened for years. Hagan isn't the first and sadly he probably won't be the last. I guess the only positive it that it's only a countdown championship, it's not like those matter anyway.

I am not one of those team fan guys, meaning I like some JFR drivers, and not others. Same thing with the DSR drivers, so I've got no dog in this fight.
What I immediately thought when I saw Capps, who had one of the more consistent cars the entire weekend, go into shake at the hit of the throttle was an interview ESPN had with Don a while back. Something happened where another team may have taken a dive and he was asked about his thoughts about diving. I don't remember his exact words, but I do remember his position on the matter. He essentially said he would never give team orders and would always ensure his teams were always straight up. In fact, he was pretty animated about the matter.
Listen, diving is part of the sport, like it or not. For those saying 'let it go' and 'move on' - I will say to you it is our job, as fans of the sport, to call BS when we see it.
It could be a coincidence that a consistent car goes into shake when facing a teammate who is in the running for the title and another teammate not taking the preferred lane against said title contender in the next round, or it could be BS. Either way, it does deserve to be recognized, just as many of us on the Mater have recognized possible dives in the past.
