The one thing that really stands out to me is the Don Garlits explosion in 1970 at Lions. I thought he'd been killed & it really shook me. Then 1971, Garlits come out with his version of the back motor car. I got to Lions early that Sat, had to see that car run. Wow.... Saw the first 330 MPH at Firebird. Tony Shoe, 1/4 mile. So many memories, but you know what was best? Going to Lions on a Sat nite, seeing 8 car shows for AA/FA, Top Gas Dragster, JR/F. And sometimes going out to Speedworld in Phoenox just to watch ET racing. Loved to sit on the starting line at that track. Yes I miss it, closed 2013. Miss Lions the most. Anyhoo, just wanted to say that. BTW, Larry Sutton is my hero.
