DeJoria Brings In New Demographic

That was purely I story I happened across in town. I thought it was neat, someone who has never been to any motorsports event, a person who just started following a driver and got the chance to meet them and I wrote a story on it.

No marketing ploy -- just a story. If you like it, then you like it.

If you make off color comments -- whatever. I would expect that on certain message boards but not this one.

Just thought it was a good story about a good person experiencing drag racing for the first time.

No no-I thought it was great. After reading the DRO reporter hating his experience-and reading on here about how everyone hates what drag racing has become, its refreshing to read about someone EXCITED to go to a race.
I wouldn't even mind a follow up to see how she liked it. ;)

BTW-I race-and build race engines for a living-and drive a VW Jetta diesel. It and my race car hauler are powered by veggie oil! :p Balance!

Thanks Bobby, finally someone who explains their stories! Good pic BTW...

Now, it may have been a while ago, but ask Rapid Randy if I can own and/or drive. I was driving before he got into the sport. Better yet, ask TJsr or TJjr if you don't take Baker's word for it.

How much would you care to bet? I co-owned it with a guy named Roger Allen. We had a limited partnership called A&M racing in the state of Iowa.

The black one and the blue one are the same car.
The yellow one is not mine, it is a friend of mine named John Austin.

Ask Baker. Or TJsr or TJjr. I raced that very car against all three of them.
I don't know who your friend is, but they know absolutely nothing and they are a liar. Since they have seen fit to stick their nose in my business, name them. I will call them a liar directly to their face.

And just so you know, bigmouth, here is another car I owned.
It came from a gentleman named Doug Dragoo when he lived in Ogden Iowa.
Unfortunately, I sold the car before I could finish it and race it, so I got back into the 67 Camaro shown above for a couple more years.

Oh, you have heard of Doug, right? Crewman for Tommy Johnson JR, Don Prudhomme, Kalitta Racing, and Doug Herbert? Yeah. Same guy.

Ask that guy named Rapid Randy about me. He and I have known each other for, oh gosh, 30 some years. Raced a lot of rounds with and against him. He will put you straight.

I just saw this thread, man what a bunch of different directions it is going.

Greg, wow those photos bring back some memories. Just for the record, Greg did co-own and drive the above cars. Doug Dragoo is a friend and local boy who made good.

Greg was a very good driver, and although in my memory I remember beating him, I know FOR SURE he put me on the trailer a few times as well. :D There was a group of us all from Des Moines, Iowa who raced together, towed to the track together and managed to find some kind of trouble together on the way home. :)

Man those photos make me smile, good times. In fact Greg was there for the very first time I raced my Don Ness Camaro at Eddyville. We both stood there and watched TJ JR make his first pass down the track in his 1st race car as well. It was a White Nova. Prior to that he had made some runs in TJ SR's cars.

Oh, and to keep it somewhat on topic, Laura and I use Paul Mitchell products, have for years.

Rapid

PS, guess who owned Eddyville back then,,,yep the DRO reporter Jok Nicholson

I told you to never bring up the Dutch Oven Pizza Parlor incident again. Ever. :D I thought since all they served was Schlitz beer nobody would have a problem with us bring our own cooler in. Ah yes. Bakers Don Ness car. Did you or Austin get your car from Twig? Where did the other one come from?

We sure did have some good times. Me, you, KO, Bucky, Johnny, Stan M, Snodgrass, the Livingston's (all 88 if them) and yes, Jok. The picture of me and Johns cars is at Eddyville, and the black one is at Waterloo. I THINK that is Chris Shmitz in the background (oops. looks like he got cut out of the digital version). Dig the MotorWheel Fly's!

In case you didn't already know, Chris is a 3 time Ozark Mtn Super Shifter series champ now. Troy Shafer has at least one championship as well, driving a Probe and sometimes Dave's old Mustang II Pro Stocker.

Actually, Jok didn't own Eddyville. He managed it. John Rempe (the brick house across the road from the track) owned it until he sold it to Karl Moyer. He let his longhorn cattle graze it in the offseason. Made for some interesting weekends at the start of the season. :D

Well then?

Suffice to say, your friend is uninformed or a liar (feel free to tell them I called them that), and you are completely wrong for saying I stole pictures from the web and tried to pass them off as mine.

Or maybe the Opposite sex isn't on your Menu maybe?
Dude. You called me a liar. You got proven wrong. You got clowned.

Give it up. You are making a fool of yourself. Again. When we want advice on F-stops and booze, we will call you.

BTW, did you tell your "friend" who sent you the PM that they are as wrong as you are? I would sure like to confront that idiot too.

Sorry. Calling real racers liars isn't a "good time".
Admit it. You were wrong. And, your "friend" is a liar.

As for drinkin? Well, I have my share of beers.

BUT! I have a couple of other priories to deal with, and they aren't aluminum cans. They are all original steel and fiberglass. Yeah. These are in my garage these days.

Still not the Prius you think I drive.

BTW, where are your race car photos bigmouth?

Oh, wait. Your "friend" is going to tell you these aren't mine, and I am making it all up. Right?

Nice cars Greg.... although you need to trade that riceburner in for a real hot rot. :p :D

Back to the original story.... is she good-looking and top-heavy? Yes. But you know what? She's a new fan and that's all that matters.
