Aaron's is in - Lucky Dog Rule next? (1 Viewer)

Just kidding! Welcome and a big thank you to Aaron's for stepping up and sponsoring Jack and AB. I think this is a good demographic fit for some NHRA fans. Aaron's offers an alternative (although expensive) for people who otherwise couldn't buy furniture or appliances.

AARON'S CONFIRMS DSR MARKETING PARTNERSHIP

Aarons is no more than loan shark company that takes advantage of people with no credit. I really don't care if they sponsor anybody.

Hard to argue that the rent-to-own business is any more civic-minded than the sub-prime mortgage business, but it sure is nice to have new companies investing in drag racing, and also hard to find a more deserving driver.

What is wrong with some of you, we have a new company stepping up and supporting a team and you guys are bashing how they conduct business. The last time I checked, Aaron's isn't making these people do anything they don't want to do. It is real simple, if you don't have the $ for something don't buy it! You guys are blaming the company when you should be blaming the people who are making the purchases when they shouldn't be in the first place. The same goes for people who carry credit card debt, if you can't afford it, DON'T BUY IT! The only reason why I have a credit card is for the points and the convenience, when the bill comes in every month it is paid in full, it is called self discipline.

aarons provides a service to a select market, do different than
a BMW dealer in a wealthy suburb.
if your credit is healthy you should be thankful, there are many folks
that either can't build credit or do not have the discipline to establish credit.

When i was younger and didn't really make **** for money I used aarons for things. It was either give them 50 a week for something or blow it partying. Worked for me at the time.. Now i own everything i have except my car..

Do they charge 20-25% interest like these Fast cash outfits???

Even more than 25% in some cases. And the furniture is garbage. I'd rather see one less sponsor in the sport then predatory companies like Aarons.

Just my opinion.

Can't imagine how any company could get so big and successful if they sold junk to the American people as you claim! That is a competitive industry, you don't get that big scamming the American people like that.

Yes you do. Just look at what the mortgage industry did. It got HUGE and made Billions of dollars by selling junk loans. It happens all of the time, in every industry. I think you are giving the average American consumer too much credit. Remember, the average American consumer thinks Taco Bell is real Mexican food, thinks walmart is good value and thinks George Bush was a great President. The average American is stupid and uninformed. That's where these companies make their money....on ignorance.

Again, just my opinion.

and very accurate nick.......anyone knows taco johns is the real deal ;)

The issue with any rent-to-own place is that you end up paying more than retail for the item and if they repo it you're out all the money you paid AND you have to start all over if you want to rent the item again.

Plus, they advertise as "brand new" but many times they give you used stuff. I once had to troubleshoot a woman's PC she got from a rent-to-own place - it was clearly used, they didn't even restore the system back to factory. It had some punk's files including some porn.

Please not this is not unique to Aaron's, all of them are like this.
