Dan is your 2008 Comp Eliminator Champ with a gate shot over the master Dave Connolly. In my view Dan is another Jeggie. Put him in any car and he can win with it. Fletch is someone who should be in Pro Stock ....now!

without a doubt one of the best and most versitle drivers out there

Amen! On top of that, it was pretty nice to see a Comp, Super Stock, Stock Eliminator, Division 1 sweep - with Mr. Fletcher, Byron Worner, and Lee Zane (also a National Champ) taking those respective divisions at Pomona.
If you didn't know, Byron Worner, his brother Bryan, and his father Tim, all won National Events this year! That's pretty amazing!

Dan did a great job in the Braun car this year and he can stay on the West Coast in that car all he wants to! LOL!
ROTFLMAO!!!
:D:D:D

National Event win #56!!!
3rd National Championship!!!
I wouldn't hold my breath on Dan being in Rick's car next year but with him losing the Valvoline sponsorship, who knows!

I, too, would love to see Dan move up to Pro Stock. Before he does that tho, he needs a SC National Event win and a double-up first!!!
:cool::cool::cool:

Besides being an awesome driver, he's so very friendly & personable. He always remembers me no matter where it is: Seattle, Sonoma, or G'ville!!!
And yes, I've joked with him about being his "stalker"! LOL

It is truly amazing he hasn't doubled, isn't it?
Yea!
Yet!
I think he had 2/3 chances this year. At least he won 1 of the 2 each time. :)
I was really impressed @ Sonoma when he went red in SS but then sucked it up and won Comp!

Gotta win the lottery to help sponsor him plus a few others!
:D

ok I know Dan is an awesome BRACKET racer... has he ever raced anything totally heads up? Will he run prostock? I have said that to the circle I run in and these are the questions that come up. I think he will remain a sportsman racer he is way to into his family to run the whole pro program.... just my thoughts

Don't say "bracket racer" in front of any Comp racer. You may get your A** kicked. The only thing that would stop anyone of his talent from running PS is LOF. Just ask Rampey.

ok well as far as using the term brackett racer. its a generalization.... I think he would not have as much fun running pro stock. to much publicity etc.... But I would like to see him do it and kick some p/s but too! He seemed to fit the comp catagory well.... might see him there for awhile

I own a comp car-it was 5 in the country in 2006 and 9 in 2007-we had problems this year-my driver (Lee Zane) bracket raced before he ran comp-it's why he is a good comp driver. Don Stratton, former world champion in comp, told me what made him a good comp racer was that he was a good bracket racer. And the best comp driver of all time, David Rampy, was a great bracket racer first.

Comp racers know the value of being able to drive the top end and people often learn how to do that while bracket racing.

You may think that bracket racing is a dirty word among comp racers, but this comp racer doesn't think so.
