Pre-Race Report

Fifth in points and consistently qualifying in the NHRA Nitro Funny Car Top Five has Cruz Pedregon and team right where they want to be as they head to the New England Dragway. The team has been getting the Snap-on® "Makers and Fixers" Dodge® SRT® Hellcat® ready to go for the weekend Cruz says they’re all looking forward to.
"The great thing about this team is that we’re working together so well and we’re continuing to see these top qualifying performances out of the Snap-on Makers and Fixers Dodge," says Cruz. "That’s been a tough thing to accomplish in today’s Funny Car competition with so many cars running so close. We’re going to hang our hat on that and keep digging to be ready for the next race.”
Cruz says “Epping is a good race” where the team will use what they learned from ignition system issues in Virginia and “being aggressive” in the changing weather conditions.
Prior to the race, Cruz will ride along with Nitro Franchisee Chris Bartholomew who has been on board with Snap-on for 17 years. According to Chris, his customers really appreciate interacting with Cruz when he stops by their shops during these ride-alongs. Chris has managed hospitality events in Cruz’s pits on both sides of the country after making a move from California to New Hampshire. He enjoys it so much here at the races, he has 30 clients coming with him to the track both Saturday and Sunday. These makers and fixers will get to see Chris’s name on the side of Cruz’s car and maybe take some pictures with the equipment to post to Snap-on’s makersandfixers.com.
