Would love to be neighbors with a fuel team.

From the description:

Every once in a while we'll hear this low rumbling ever-present ROAD rattle our building. Then finally realize that it's our neighbors across the street Tasca Racing with their NHRA drag car outside

Since that looks like a Commercial area, I'm sure they wont have any problems firing that thing! Too bad they didn't do a Throttle bump! Lol

The reason I emphasized Commercial, is my brothers Rock band used to practice at the Family Printshop after hours. But just 2 blocks behind it was a residential area, and they would complain about Noise! The Police said since that is in a Commercial Area they couldn't do anything about it! So my mother got a Ton of Noise complaints....lol

I've seen other similar videos. Let me ask an honest novice question though....make me smarter - what value is there, in doing that? - idiing your car on jackstands, on say, a Tuesday at 2:17pm, 700 miles from a racetrack? Training the crew? Testing components?

Chris, didn't Connie sit in the f/c while they fired it up at the shop over the winter?

It's the sound. If we have to explain it, you wouldn't understand. :D

And you consider yourself a Drag racing fan?

Goddann, all I did was ask a question, yo. Did you not catch the word novice? I do know that you don't start these cars and burn fuel because it's "cool". just wondering mechanically, what they're doing away from the track. Maybe you can tell me how smart you are with all your racing wisdom dude. As it turns out, I really don't give a crap. Have a nice day

Most of the time its just to make sure things dont leak, fit and mesh together without binding and looking for those issues you don't want to find at the track on race weekend.

Plus, if you COULD do it, wouldn't you? :D

a guess that it's blower/scoop/manifold related?
wish they'd share the secrets with wilk too.
JFR and DSR really should start circulating decals for the lesser teams using
their parts, then pay contingency bonuses for winner and ru.....it'd be a
fairly safe bet they wouldn't pay often.

Back in the 70's, my dad would fire up his FC in our residential neighborhood. Once, at 2 am to be sure the rebuild was good and then we hit the road for Denver..........:D
We had cool neighbors but I was glad we hit the road for a long weekend.
