Congrats Steve Johnson!!!

Was awesome to see him win it, great way to start the season. Saw Larry Dixon hanging out with them in the finals.

I sure hope Steve Johnson wins more races. Next to J. Force, he's my favorite personality in all of racing. He's a riot! LOL

Steve Johnson is the only import bike that I'll root for (Well, second if Karen Stoffer gets back out there). Was a pleasure seeing him win in person!
You are aware, aren't you Sam, that your beloved Stock Harley V-Rod has an engine built by and purchased from Porsche? Or doesn't that count as "import" because it's German instead of Asian? Probably overstepping my bounds here, but I have noted, and not said anything, for some time that an awful lot of your posts sure seem to have racial overtones..i.e. your "import" comment here, and your "Whiney Bros." comment and your extreme dislike of anything connected with Al-Anabi as seen in the Force thread. I'm sorry, but I hate to see individual people and groups of people condemned because of race. Putting the soap box away now and fading into quiet anonymity once again....

To be honest I didn't know that the street v-twins were made in Germany.

But really, preferring American bikes makes me a racist? That's a new one. As far as "whiney brothers" a lot of race fans call the pedregon bros that because they are, not because they are Hispanic. I have my reasons for not liking a certain TF team but it has nothing to do with race.

I think you're confusing my refusal to be a member of the PC brigade with racism....

PS my current car is a Hyundai Sonata....

Americans, especially American race fans, love an underdog. Corporate America is trying to teach us to love our well funded overloads. Maybe this works for the kids, but I will stand on my couch and root for Steve Johnson over Jimmy Johnson every day of the week. A scrappy underdog (like TW or BB) winning one or two races a year would do wonders for NHRA and their prescribed entertainment(used to be called races). What is curious is Matt Smith is probably just as scrappy, but is much less loved.

Force's championship will most likely be wasted, in terms of public interest, when it becomes clear that he is heavily funded and did something that most of the starting field in a top dragster race could do. Mash the pedal on time(or button) and hang on.
