Alright racers, it's time to move to some roundball action. Who's your pick to click? Who's the sleeper school that goes deep in March? Who is the most improved program? Who belly flops after a strong start?

Let's tip-off and run & gun!!!;)

As a lifelong UK fan, we are the alpha and the omega of college basketball. GO BIG BLUE!

That being said, this season is all about UNC. The Tar Heels are awesome this year.

Tar heels look pretty unstoppable

Michigan is most improved, how the hell they aren't ranked it beyond me. They beat then #4 ucla then this week beat #4 Duke. Not sure anyone else has two quality wins that good right now. They deserve to be one the board at least.

Yes......but there is a common complaint about frozen balls
Something about them not bouncing right :D
Could definitely be, Mel. I'll have to check with the six or seven people that attend Husker basketball games. They stuck the Husker Volleyball team in the old Coliseum and they pack the place. The BB team plays in the Devaney center and draws 20 people---makes good sense to me!

It's UNC's title to lose....they're way to good and way too deep

keep an eye on Notre Dame and Georgetown come March

Is Roy Williams an awesome recruiter and coach or what? We sure miss him here in the Big 12. Us Mizzou fans don't care for Kansas at all, but we all respected Roy. Bill Self stepped in to some big shoes and really hasn't missed a beat. I know Texas and Oklahoma seem to be the cream of the conference, but I wouldn't bet against Kansas being ready to compete come tourney time.

My Tigers sure looked good while killing California Sunday. Maybe, just maybe, we've turned the corner.

Does Nebraska have a basketball team????

I remember Dave Hoppen!

Virginia starts 2 freshmen in the backcourt. No shot!

Living 30 minutes south of Charlotte, and listening to AM sports radio very much, the UNC fans are just plain dumb. At least the ones that call in to the station. In many minds, anything but a National Title is a busted season. Stupid. Stupid that so many UNC fans put so much on the line with 18-22 year old kids. "Our season starts at the Final Four" is the phrase I hear most often.

Basketball taken to seriously on Tobacco Road? Yep.

I hate it when your balls are frozen.

As much as I'd like to brag that my Minnesota Gophers are 8-0 thus far, they haven't really played anyone yet. Next couple weeks should show what they're truly like with games against Louisville, Mich. st. and Ohio State coming up.

I have to agree though that UNC looks awfully tough and the team to beat so far.

Don't think it has gone unnoticed in the Bluegrass that the Gophers are 8-0 while we are losing to VMI in Rupp Arena. There are MANY people that are beginning to wonder why we got rid of Tubby for a drunk Texan.

I've been pretty happy with how my Gonzaga team is playing this year. :) Undefeated with wins over Oklahoma State, Maryland, Tennessee, Washington State and with games against Arizona, UConn and a re-match with Tennessee on Jan. 7, I am quite happy.

I think people should keep an eye on Davidson. Stefan Curry is quite a baller.

I agree North Carolina is cream of the crop right now and you should always keep an eye on Duke.

Never count out Memphis, either ... thank goodness for college hoops because my football teams (UW, Seahawks) suuuuuuuuuck. I have never wanted football season to end so badly in my life.

This is how big of a Zags fan I am -- and I ended up graduating from Washington -- I made my phone a GU BlackBerry. :D

Hey Kris ... Mark Few was the top of the list for me when UK went hunting for a new basketball coach 2 years ago. Just think what Mark could do in a real conference at a school that has the best facilities in college basketball with a real budget ... it boggles the mind.

I am STUNNED that the Zags have held on to him as long as they have.

I'm not, especially after what happened to Dan Monson, but Gonzaga is a great place to be and I don't think there's much turnover for coaches at all. Coach Few was the second assistant coach behind Monson when I was a student at Gonzaga. I am sure he probably thought he would have to leave Spokane to ever get a head coaching job because Dan Fitzgerald was at GU forever and I'm sure he figured Monson would coach at GU forever, too. He'd been an assistant for seven years when he took over and he's a smart, smart guy. I'm sure he knows he has an incredible job and an amazing opportunity and that there really aren't greener pastures.
There's just something about Gonzaga. It's a basketball school. I don't even know how to explain it. I worked in the athletic department my freshman year there (1996-1997) and was at every home game for every sport as part of my job. There is nothing like being in The Kennel on a Saturday night for a game against Santa Clara or Pepperdine.

I'm not sure there's a better fit for Mark Few or that being in "a real conference" suits him at all. I believe that he could coach anyone, anywhere and at anytime but there's a certain chemical reaction that has occurred at Gonzaga with Mark Few as the head coach that I doubt could be recreated anywhere else.

I wasn't intending to slam Gonzaga, I am sure it is a great place.

I agree with you that Mark could coach anyone, anytime, anywhere. That's why this UK fan was wishing we would look beyond Billy Gillespie to someone (Few) who has more experience and no character issues.

But no matter what you guys have in Spokane, it is not like being in Rupp Arena on a Saturday night with 23,000 screaming fans for UK-Louisville, UK-Florida or UK-Tennessee.

Oh yeah, I know you weren't, but I think you have to go to a game in The Kennel and spend time in Spokane to really get why he wouldn't leave Gonzaga. There's just something about the place.
I watched Gonzaga play Tennessee in front of 15,000 fans last year at Key Arena (they actually drew more people than the Sonics did all last season, sigh) for the Battle in Seattle. This year they're playing UConn and it's sold out.
Personally I feel like they could put a 20,000 seat arena on Gonzaga's campus and pack it for every men's home game but for whatever reason they chose not to do it.
I also understand why schools would want Mark Few. But you can't have him! He's ours! LOL.
I really think he's gonna be like Joe Paterno and coach at Gonzaga until he's 84 because for him there aren't greener pastures or bigger challenges. Is there a greater challenge than playing in a low RPI mid-major conference, dominating it year after year, taking all the kids you get from big stars to JUCO transfers, playing all comers anytime and anywhere, and maintaining the program at an elite level?
Well, maybe following Bobby Knight at Indiana. :p

Hello BB fans, another KY fan here, and have my doubts on Clyde also, he can sure recruit, but I sure would like to see some ingame adjustments that seem to matter.

How 'bout Texas losing? Wow...shocking that they lost in Texas (Houston). I sure hope they save a loss for my Tigers. Mizzou is playing better than they have in several years, but we're still not at the level of Texas and Oklahoma. But...in college basketball, anything can happen if you're hot and they're not! I'll cross my fingers, but I won't hold my breath!
