Check out these 1958 NHRA videos... (1 Viewer)

Hey Joe...

They were forwarded to me in an email. I watched them and thought they were pretty cool. I figured somebody here would like to see them as well.

Jackee Allen posted those back in Sept of last year. Good to repost them though for people who missed 'em then.

They are cool. Another era entirely, isn't it? Did anyone notice the real loose starting line rules, including one of the crew members hanging onto the car's roll bar until just before the flagman starts the race? Or Ohio George's hood flapping in the breeze?

The music is a hoot! Reminds me of the films we used to watch in school.

They're Youtube versions for those of you who prefer that venue.

The guy standing under the ramps unloading the car or another one driving a front engine dragster with a short sleeved shirt. Wow!

Saftey sure has come along ways these last 50 years.

Neat stuff. Hey they showed a Barbara Livingstone, a secretary at NHRA, (my spelling and wording may be off), is that the Barbara who married Wally?
