Chasing Speed on VICE network tonite (3 Viewers)

I drove and raced a 70 Road Runner for many years. Yes, my "Baby" is the 1967 Mustang, but I appreciate Muscle in all forms. And this deal was too good to pass up.It also came with a ton of parts. Look close at the pic I posted and you can see five grills hanging above the car and to the left a couple of dash pads. Guy was colleting stuff for years. And as I mentioned a "Parts Car"

The interior is a bit rough, 30 years outside in the Arizona sun will do that. You can kind of see behind it the stack of fenders and the hoods leaning against the wall.

The guy who owned them reached out to me, I had no idea he had them. Told me he realized that he was never going to get to the project, asked if I wanted to buy the cars and parts.

Is that an FC7 factory Plum Crazy R/T ? Did you get all those extra parts also? Usable e-body parts are like gold.

The series brings out a lot of behind the scenes happenings that don’t fit into the Fox racing broadcasts.
The videos of older races are great to see.
However, the video of Jim Nicoll’s car coming apart at Indy ‘70 against Snake was still gut wrenching to watch.

I will never forget leaving Green Valley when I was a kid. We stopped at a gas station not far from the track and I’m standing outside the car and I hear someone from a vehicle on the road yelling “Vaughn!” at the top of their lungs. I turned around and it was Jim Nicoll! I felt like the luckiest kid alive. I can close my old ass eyes and still picture it in my mind.

I watched the 2nd episode last night with my wife and her quote, "I now want to root against Blake Alexander, what an arrogant ass". Not sure if that was the intent, but if it was, it was successful. Blake and I are a lot alike when it comes to wanting to be successful, which may be reason why she reacted that way, it hits close to home. I reminded her that the new house, car, and other things she has in life is a direct result of the passion to be the best. She didn't find me funny 😁.
