Huh??? Guess I misunderstood.

Nope, you didn't misunderstand, I stand corrected, I did say that. I thought I worded it a bit more vaguely, but I guess not. I do think his driving has to have something to do with his relative lack of success. I say relative because he has won more races than I (and most people on this board) ever will.

As a student of the game (and I don't know much or Rit Pustari subbing for Brandon would have made sense), the collective results of the team have not been competitive since Englishtown. My opinion is, there are way too many 300ft or less 1st round losses to place blame anywhere but the tune-up. I have no Walsh axe to grind, and who knows if he was making due with what was existing, similar to Dickie at Al-Anabi.
In the end, it didn't seem to fit. The logical responsible person, based on the results would be Walsh. Certainly doesn't mean anybody sucks. If the next guy brings a 300ft race day tune up to the table, more of the same. I hope they go 1000ft consistently so we can really give Morgan a fair evaluation (trashing?).

Mods, how about just deleting this thread since it is really heading towards the gutter or totally getting de-railed. Hopefully the Lucas Family does not bother to get on Nitromater as some of the derogatory stuff posted in this and previous threads about Morgan Lucas are just uncalled for. A change was in order, and why and how it was done is none of our business. Don't you all realize how important the Lucas family is to ALL of NHRA? Writing negative stuff about their son is really uncalled for. :(

I don't think this thread should be deleted. People have opinions, and they are entitled to them. I am sure the Lucas' can handle any criticism directed at them. I doubt Morgan Lucas gives a rats ass if anybody on here thinks he can drive good, or not. He's got the last laugh anyway. He's driving a Top Fuel dragster!

I met and spoke with Morgan a few years ago at Norwalk. He was very nice, and funny too. Had a great personality. I'd like to see them get it together, and be consistently competitive.

ever since the setback blowers became the norm, seems like it's been more
of crap shoot vs. consistency.........very few tuners have consistently shown
top of the pack performance; the jfr tuners and AJ being the exceptions.

did dicki and kurt take notes on the al anabi dragster while they
were there?.........hope so.

Actually Frank Hawley did. When I was in his class I asked him: "you've driven everything, is there anything you wouldn't drive?" He said instantly, "Yep, Pro Stock. The cars are very complex and hard to drive, but more importantly, they are so delicately balanced that it's like driving on ice. Downforce would slow them down, so they minimize it. One small mistake and you're in the wall or on the roof."

Despite what was posted on other sites ,Dickie & Kurt haven't been working at the shop this week ,
rumor is no deal has been made as of Friday... Maybe John gets double duties at Maple Grove ? ...
Could be Lucas is waiting to see if Mark & Brian become available soon...
