Word going around Indy is that Jimmy Walsh is gone ...
Also a rumor that Lucas Oil is dropping the Kenny B sponsorship for next year...

Newman...is it Lucas Oil dropping the sponsorship or KB and the Copart team ending the partnership? Just trying to get clarification...not speculating.

Unless he is driving it out of the groove, changing the burnout every run, giving late reactions, how does the driver make the car lose consistently? Have you noticed him doing any of the above? If yes then you have a point, if not then how did you come to that conclusion?

How about just plain bad luck?

Rick

Whatever the reason is...and it's consistently there...it's the worst tuning job in the sport. There is a lack of committment, chemistry, synergy and who knows what else. With all the money they've thrown at this effort, it's obvious something is wrong INSIDE the team. Use the process of elimination here:

Sufficient money...

Sufficient parts...

Sufficient people...

Sufficient talent...

Hmmm........

I don't think that was a cheap shot, I think that was stating the obvious. Ultimately it comes down to the guy behind the wheel. I'd use the example of Troy Coughlin vs Jeg Jr. Troy had access to all the same equipment, the same $$ and all the other resources. Who won more races? (waaaaaaay more) Was it because of some strange, invisible reason? No, Troy was a lousy driver, and I do believe the same thing is going on with Morgan. Sh*tpiles of money don't make you a good driver.

Im with him, makes alot of sense, you can be a billionare and not drive worth a crap, you either have it or you dont. Compare Dave Connoly vs Rodger Brogden, who wins more? Morgan VS Shawn L. Shawn is a a great driver and it shows as he had morgans last CC. Just my opinio not stating facts, just what i see

I'll believe it when I see it. KB is a marketing department's dream come true.

Let's hope they didn't trade a dead dog for a dead cat...

The Al-Anabi FC hasn't exactly been a stellar performer, either.

From what I understand, Dickie went in there and tried to work with what they already had. He said instead of 'wiping the system' and putting in what he would of wanted (prob the setup he had w. tony), he tried to work with what Aaron already had. Who knows, could be wrong, just a thought.

no....just a random picture taken to introduce the new Diesel Duty oil... I find it hard to believe KB and Lucas would split. They've been in business forever.

And I'd rather spend marketing money next year on a quality TAFC Mr. Goodwin....

Do tell, do tell....

Kevin keeps calling me and telling me to get Daniel a fresh hair cut.

You know...like those refrigerator white, low 5.50's running cars that seem to be sidelined in So Cal.... If anybody could spend money on marketing their product...that would be a pretty good ROI for those who chose to do so... Of Course, they'd have to add a budget for the 'Girth-expansion' department...;)

A little history on "Team Girth." The name was coined by Rob Moore (Moore Performance) when I raced my TA/FC in Japan in 1994. My crew was Rob, Anthony Young and me. The average weight of our team members excluding my wife was a petite 300 pounds. Considering how small framed the Japanese are, we looked like a Sumo wrestling team over there. Of course we all look a lot better now.;)

In a related story...about the same time the Rock Band "They Might Be Giants" came out with their eclectic hit "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" about the same time you guys were running in Japan....very interesting.....

oh...what was this thread about anyways???? Oh yeah... Lucas and KB...

chris,

when you say "from what i understand" it infers that you have heard information
from a source regarding dickie and al anabi.

you end your post with "who knows,......just a thought" it infers that you are
making a subjective statement about dickie and al anabi.

which is it?

Troy is a good driver. He's not Jeggie but, who is. Troy is a enough bigger than Jeg to make a huge difference in a Pro Stock car and it's set-up. The Lucas' are an easy target, however, at the end of the day, performance on the level they expect, is hard to come by.

I'd bet on a Beard tuned Lucas driven car being a contender.

Walsh assumed the responsibility and it didn't work out...next.

Sorry for the confusion,

I was referring to an article I read on comp. plus a couple months ago (which is what i meant by what I understand). But I am not affiliated or associated with AJR in any way so I don't "really know." My b

What is your problem with Morgan Lucas and his team? Walsh was with that team for almost two years and they won some races together. Obviously, Morgan is a good driver and knowing many of the crew members, I can say they are a great team. This change has been coming for a while, most likely just waiting for the right person/people to become available.

It's so easy to slam people you don't know or know anything about. It's Morgan team, in fact, two teams. Stuff happens, people change jobs every day.....how about backing off and seeing what happens!!!
