Capps, Densham and Cruz...

I'd rather see the current "Big Show" guys leave the nostalgia racing to the little guys. Kinda like the bigtime NASCAR drivers running the lower series and sucking all the money away from the younger drivers.
Just my 2 cents.

They are getting offered these rides by Car owners! I see your point, but if I had one of those I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable putting some 22 year old in the driver's seat without some experience!

I personally think it is really cool that some of the big names of the sport, as a previous poster called them, have enough appreciation of the history of drag racing to participate in these events. I sure dont think they are doing it for the money.

What "money" is Capps or Densham or Cruz sucking off of the younger drivers?

This is "hobby racing" pure and simple, if you don't think Gary Densham was on a tight budget to race at the March Meet, think again. Same for Cruz or any of the other "younger drivers" who raced there, who by the way are probably the same age or older than Capps.

What better final round than to have Leah Pruett-LeDuc -vs- Gary Densham... any driver who lines up next to an NHRA Pro driver at the March Meet rises to the occasion to give his or her best shot at putting the Pro driver on the trailer... it happened three times, one for Cruz, one for Capps and in the final for Densham and they all had a ball doing it!

A young woman wins the March Meet funny car crown against a crafty veteran nitro racer, Hmmmm seems like the "little guys" prevailed.
