It'd be my guess that whoever typed that meant 2005-2011. Just a guess, though.Copied straight from the NHRA website article:
"Foley, who raced Top Fuelers from 2005-2001 before taking a nine-year break, returned in 2020 on a part-time basis."
Does he have a time machine?
I'm sure it was a typo. I posted this to have a little fun with it.It'd be my guess that whoever typed that meant 2005-2011. Just a guess, though.![]()

I hear ya. I frequent YB and there's a contingency of statistic and grammar police on that forum who have made a career out of exactly that. And while I recall Foley racing back then and the Torco mess, I can't say with any accuracy when he started and when he signed off. Pleased that he made the final yesterday and watching Tatum's short but emotional interview afterward.Carl,
Most take the written word literally and cannot accept errors, human or not...not with this crowd, just in general
I also think Foley ended the first round of his TF "career" sooner....in 2008 he lost the Torco/Skull Gear/Mach Accelerated sponsorship, when that conglomerate fell. I think he only lasted another year on associate sponsorships (2009)?
I was happy for him also...Lord knows we need to keep the car count up and if this gets him more $$$ then so be it. I do know he sued Knoll Gas in 2009 for the remainder on his contract, but may have been futile.I hear ya.
