Just to say thank you D'.

I have been thinking about this awhile and know I could and have sent you many thank yous. But I wanted to say this here.

Thank you for graciously taking my youngest stepson under your wing for the holidays while he was in Okinawa.

Thank you for calmly putting my mind at ease so many times while he was in Afghanistan.

Thank you for kindly explaining all the stuff I asked dumb questions about in regard to the acronyms and stuff you guys seem to be swimming in.

I'm sure I will be less a pest now that Chris is stationed in Virginia. :)

Thank you for being you!!

I hope you have a wonderful trip home and a safe trip both directions.

I know it will be awhile before I get to meet you, yet I hope that one day I do get to meet you and Chikako. I'd love to give you both a big hug!

You`re welcome G.
It was our pleasure having Chris over, wish we could have done it a few more times he`s a great young man. Hopefully we can figure out a way to cross paths, maybe you could come enjoy our tropical paradise or maybe we`ll meet up at the races.

All that good will, AND he got engaged as well? :)

Nothing like a good military man to show the world how to get things done!!

Congrats D and the lovely Miss C!!!!

Hi De! :) Sorry I have been a long time in reply.

I was scoping out tickets to travel to Thailand (actually had dates and everything) with my brother this year with a stop for about a week in Japan when we got the news at work that managers can't schedule vacation time after February 12th until further notice.
Temporarily Scrooged, but I will get there.

Chris and M seem to be doing well in Virginia. Chris is taking additional training (of course) to enhance his employability at the hospital. He seems to be enjoying life. I could go on, but bottom line is that he is alive and well. I'm sure you have seen he gets into FB less than before, but he is still there.

As always, love your food porn in FB. Hope you and C are going well.

I haven't been surfing much lately for anything but research.

Hi G,
So where were you looking at going in the Land Of Smiles before getting McDucked? Hopefully after February things will be able to get back on track. I`m glad Chris is doing well, he`s a great guy. Chika and I are doing well starting to do wedding planning, we`re looking at June or July depending on my work schedule and venue availability. I`m glad you enjoy the food pics, hopefully I can get to some interesting places on my next few trips to Korea, Manila and hopefully Pattaya. We`re getting ready to go to a Bridal Fair today, it would be cool, if your trip comes to pass and you are on island when we have our ceremony. As long as Mom hangs on I don`t expect to make it to the states in 2012 so we`ll have to see about getting together at the races in 2013.

Hello D.
My sister in law lives in Nakhon Si Thammarat. I guess fly into Bangkok and travel? Nice thing about it is I would get to BE the tourist and take my own pictures. Last time they did this to us it was about three months before we were able to take more than a day at a time. This may take a couple months longer because it involves a larger issue. Thank you. The food pics make a nice change from here, since they basically throw it on a plate and call it done. The Taiwanese couple that run one of the restaurants here seem the be one of the few places that do present their food. It would be awesome to be there when you have your ceremony, if I can. I pray your Mom has several good years yet. Maybe Jenn will be out of retirement in 2013 and she can be at the races too? :) Have a great one. :D Bridal Fairs can be fun. I haven't been to one in a VERY long time. LOL

Hi G,
I`ve never really been to southern Thailand, I was on the ground briefly in Phuket during tsunami relief in 2005. Hopefully things at work shake out sooner rather than later. The remarkable thing about restaurants here is even McDonald`s hands you food that looks like it does on the picture and the staff here are much better turned out than in the states (same thing for the TSA equivalent here, Thailand and Korea). I`ll post some some pics from the two bridal fairs we`ve been to thus far, some very different takes on bridal wear. The tradition here is you have the ceremony and a couple of `costume` changes during the reception, everyone shows up with an envelope with 10,000 yen per person as opposed to gifts, they get a pretty good meal drinks and a little gift, but it effectively means they help you pay for the ceremony so you don`t end up in debt and everybody has a good time. Thanks for the good thoughts for Mom.

OMG!!! I saw the dresses. They were awesome! Thanks. :) That's a really sane way to do a wedding. Why start life together in debt. Celebration shouldn't have more that a mild hangover. :D
