But Wait

and considering it started by having a race car hit a jet dryer, lighting 200 gals of fuel ... one of the oddest delay. I'm sure they've got plenty of bondo on hand this year!

and Juan Pablo hopefully should Finally learn his lesson to stop Destroying Chip's Cars. It was only a matter of time til he wrecked like always, it's like Kenny dying on South Park.

A parts failure sent him into the jet dryer, no lesson to be learned there.

His teammate had the same parts failure and wrecked ... so I guess Jamie Mac needs to learn his lesson too?

Anybody want to join me to form an LLC called JetGard? We will be designing, patent and selling a product line of CPD's......"collision protection devices", which can be retrofitted to every jet track dryer in existence. :D

Maybe he was told you haven't hit a track dryer yet.

Reminds me about that time Buddy Baker was driving for Harry Hyde.

Famed driver Buddy Baker, who in the 1970s drove for Hyde and the K & K Insurance Team owned by Nord Krauskoff, vouches for one.
"We were at Martinsville Speedway and I was having a rough day," recalls Buddy. "I later won a race at Martinsville, but short tracks weren't my forte.
"Anyway, just prior to one restart, Harry keyed the radio and told me, 'Just before the green flag, I want you to pull up there and hit the pace car.'
"I couldn't believe it.
"I said, 'Hit the pace car?!'
"And Harry said, 'Yeah, you've hit everything else out there today. You might as well get the damn pace car, too.'"

Bret Kepner had the quote of the night last night:
NASCAR just discovered something known by every drag racing fan: there's nothing quite like a jet truck fire show under the lights.
:D

I feel bad for the crew guys and transporter drivers. "Hey great job guys. It's 1am, but we just won the Daytona 500. Now make sure you're in Phoenix by Wednesday morning."

ESPECIALLY since they have to back-track to Charlotte (Mooresville) first, load up and then head West.

During the fire delay they were talking about if Dave Blaney's car won the 500 and went into Daytona USA they would be in real trouble ... he needs most of that car this weekend in Phoenix to be able to race.

nice. I bet the jet dryer drivers are in fire suits from now on, instead of jeans.
