Brute Force

I have one just like that...well without the signatures.

Not sure why Power-aid (owned by Coca Cola) does not have any "Coke" brand soda sponsorships with the NHRA....guess part of their branding strategy.

Not going to see ANY other soda sponsorships because the NHRA has a "non-compete" thing going, you cant have a sponsor that competes with Coke or Power-aid (such a Gatorade). This also happens with quite a few other brands...too bad, but it's their playground, they can make the rules.

Pretty sure each one of those brand managers within the Coke family have individual brand budgets and decision making.

That is a very good point Keith.

It's my hope that one day this policy is seen for what it truly is..........bullsh!t. Talk about swinging the doors of opportunity wide open..........;)

What I found more interesting is he is running a Chevy. I'd like to see Chevy back, not so much because I am a Chevy fan, but because I'd like to see a Chevy, Ford, and Dodge rivalry. Good for racing, good for the fans.

To me, Pro-Stock and bike are the only professional classes that run somewhat related to the dealer vehical. Funny car is just slap on lights and a logo.

My real message:

Why doesn't Full Throttle sponsor a teams, winston did it, I think it would be a sportsmen like thing to do. Teams are leaving due to the economy left and right, can't they at least drop a few million for a team? That's why winston was such a good sponsor for the sport. They should come back. RJ Reynolds that I know of does not have the maximum 2 sport sponsorships that originally pushed them out of racing

I'm sorry but I can't bash powerade or coke because without them the already dismal purses would be no more.

Don't blame ya'. The bash belongs on Glendora. You can't blame Powerade/Coca-Cola for taking advantage of the situation; I would. But it's not good for the overall health of the sport, period.

Dating this to 1985 helped me resolve a memory loss issue. I could not
remember if I got this at an AHRA summer nationals race (1987) or at a
grudge match (apparently in 1985). Both were held at Kansas City
International Raceway before Heartland Park was even operational. I can
remember Austin motioning to a crew member to give me a pinion gear.
This was back when the rear end gear ratio was not fixed. They had swapped
gears and gave us what they swapped out.

Force is a cool guy and so is Austin. Good luck to each of them in their 2011
endeavors...
