Boyd Coddington died this morning (1 Viewer)

Wow! Like him or hate him, the guy did mountains for the hot rodding industry. Sad to see this happen.

Very sorry and shocked to hear the news. I can't say that I was very fond of Boyd, but I do think he built some pretty neat cars and did bring a lot of great ideas to the Hot Rodding world. My best to his family and friends.

This is a sad day for all Hot Rodders, his family, friends, and employees will all feel this great loss.

Lots of people had mixed feelings about Boyd mostly by what they saw on American Hot Rod, to see what his show has done for that industry, I hope that there will be more Boyd's in the future.

Our regrets go out to the Coddington family.

I'm really sorry to hear this. I never met him, but I suspect his role was a bit over-played on the TV show in order to create controversy, and boost ratings, ala Paul Sr. on American Chopper. No matter what, he made his mark in the Hot Rodding industry. RIP Boyd.

My wife works in surgery at Whittier Presbyterian where he died. I'll have to ask here what she knows about it.

63 years old and a very hectic lifestyle and almost unsurmountable stress...wonder what could have happened? Sorry Randy but that was just about a quote from my doctor before he sent me to see a heart specialist. I hope this wasn't something he ignored. He was one of my very favorite builders and the news is an absolute shock! My condolences go out to his family and his crew at the shop. This has to be devastating for all of them.

Don't ignore things and hope they go away guys. Please take care of yourselves.

Shocked from the news.

My heart goes out to his family, crew, and everyone he's touched and inspired.

Day is Done
Rest in Peace

About a year ago, I was in a local restaurant having lunch, when Boyd and two other men came in and sat down together. He was talking on his cell phone when he came in the door and continued to send and receive calls the entire time they were there.

Just a little too busy for his own good?

The shop sure made a lot of great Rods and the TV show was a hoot!

RIP Boyd. I am with the others here. He sure built some neat cars, and I hadn't heard he was even sick. Sad News, and prayers for his family.

Shocking news, loved the show and the cars. My condolences and prayers to his family and friends.
