Bowling!?

Y-Not????

I believe more people bowl than drag race. Play Poker, Play softball/ little league, Shoot Playground Hoops, 'Hunt' Golfs. All of which were 'Manly' things I and many others were forced to do... and learned to 'love' or 'hate'.

So why Drag Racing? Because my Folks hated it. Because of Ray Alley. Because of Marty & Mert, Because of the guys across the street with the a/a.

And the girls in school that only dated guys who understood 'Life Happens 1320 feet at a Time'

Sorry, at this point all you can do is chuckle. I don't expect it to start on time anymore. It struck me as funny, I guess it always will from now on.

Dan, I think that's why I don't bother anymore:D That and my inability to stay awake much after 10 pm:eek:

In case you didn't see Randy's post.......

"I just visited Poker-mater.com. They are upset that they had to watch pro stock qualifying for the first 15 minutes of their show."

Now that's funny & I don't care who you are:D

I laughed too, when was the race over? Im sure it was before 11 pm eastern... you think the show coulda came on before bowling... but espn chose to put the drags on after... probably for some reason, not by accident. Maybe bowling does get higher ratings then the drags. If thats true, Id put on bowling first too.

Im not a bowling fan, but that was hilarious, I tuned in at 10:00 and the dude got three strikes in the last frame to take the lead. Al the other guy needed - the guy who apparently dominated the game till that point - was 12 pins... and he throws a split and totally missed all the pins on the second throw and blew the game. Look on his face was priceless..

I had to put my daughter to bed after that, then I think I watched 10 mins of the race and went to sleep. I was more entertained by the bowling...

I'll be watching the race tonight, I really hope its entertaining. Sorry for the cynicism but I bet I can predict that in the first round the top 8 will all move on, and it will be a Force / Schumacher final in FC, and a Schumacher / Anabi / or Kalitta final in TF.

TV isn't really doing it for me anymore... but I am totally looking forward to 3 days in BIR come August.

The whole issue is moot at this point, but why did bowling run over? It started on time! I checked at 10:00 EST to see if the basketball game that was on before bowling was running over. The game finished on time. How does ESPN let a pre-recorded show that starts on time run over by 10-15 mintues?!?

The time it takes to complete a bowling tournament can vary slightly, depending on the pace of the participants and whether or not there's a lot of extra-frame time. I try to look at it this way. If ESPN2 had announced a 7PM CST start time in advance, and the event had actually started at 7PM sharp, no one would be complaining. But now everyone's whining because it started at 6:15...

If you have a DVR, set it to record 6-10, not the NHRA event itself. Skip over the bowling and poker, and there's your race. If you're watching it live, it's just 15 minutes...pretend it's an oildown...go check out the bowling and shaddup. :)

If you watch the bowling show at the start of the NHRA race, look up at the upper right of the screen. The "Live" means it's not a pre-recorded show.

Wait, it's a pre-recorded bowling match. Edit out the delays, just like NHRA edits out Pro Stock.
