HIGH WINDS, HAZE DISRUPT BONNEVILLE SPEED WEEK 2021 KICK-OFF | Competition Plus
On Thursday, August 5, high winds visited the Bonneville Salt Flats race course and wreaked havoc across the Salt. Gusting winds to 80 mph caused complications throughout the pits and across racing courses. The high gusting winds persisted throughout the night.
Yeah I know this isn't drag racing, but these folks are our first cousins. Winds bad enough, but ash from the fires.... wow. We've had weeks here in Phoenix where a health alert has been issued cuz of bad air, caused by smoke & ash from fires as far away as Washington state. We were up in Prescott Thur, and you could hardly see the mountains. It was like being in LA when they had smog alerts.
