For a variety of reasons Phil Burkart Jr., wasn't been able to stage Bob Gilbertson's car in the first three sessions. It leaves Prock in 16th.

The car only ran one session and the safety device popped the parachutes on that attempt.

I wondered what happened to Gilbertson & Burkhart when their name never showed up on the qualifying list. I guess Bob needed to do some testing before this race. Was not aware he still had a car that was somewhat current to even make any runs. Sure a big disappointment.

Did the brakes on the car stop working so he was unable to get the car to stop to stage the car 3 times?

He was at the last IHRA with Jon Capps driving. Not sure why they didn’t make an attempt that weekend either.

it had nothing to do with the brakes. they were only able to make 1 attempt and the safety shutoff killed the car on the burnout. not sure what else kept them from the other 3 qualifying runs
