i believe today Garlits turns 86 and Tom “the Mongoose” turns 81. Happy Birthday to these two racing legends! I’m thinking Nitro may be the secret to longevity!

Years ago, people would call Garlits "The Old Man", like you called the Capt of a ship "the old man". Well, I guess he's older on the outside, but that Garlits fire still burns on the inside. So, could we not get a match race between Garlits and The Greek?

Just saw Big on TV at the Florida Mecum auction this past weekend, he still looks great and like he is going strong

Cool video. Lots of the footage shot at Santa Pod in England. Garlits raced in England the first time with the US Drag Racing Team, around 1964. That got the British drag racing off to a start. Santa Pod has been running more than 50 years.
