Better With Each Race

just can't get my head wrapped around renaming all their properties. galot out, darana-dunn in.
IMO the unique venue names identify the property and location. same name stuff seems confusing. jmho.

You're right. It's confusing when all the McDonalds are named the same.

JMO, but I would have thought that someone in a leadership position at the IHRA might be happy to provide some insights into the thought process of renaming IHRA dragstrips (as asked by Mike Larson) rather than providing a smart ass response, but I guess I was wrong. Great way to represent the company and gain new fans Josh, good luck with that!

I’m sorry I was feeling a bit snarky after seeing people complain about a name for the 1000th time…

To properly answer Mike’s question… Darryl does what Darryl wants to do. Does he have a method to his madness? Likely. Do we always know what that method is? No. But it likely has to do with benefits like tax incentives/write-offs, marketing, etc. It is a business, after all.

Appreciate the response Josh, and the honesty as well!

I hope that in 2026 the IHRA schedules a race against both of the NHRA 4 wides so we’ll have something to watch.😂
There are 3 on top of each other so far, I haven't checked if there on 4 wide dates. IHRA locations should be out at Sema or PRI I would think.

I think Darryl is working on the logistics of each track this year and the whole operation. Once he gets all of that situated, I think he is gonna go balls to the wall with marketing in 2026 for bringing asses to the seats. Remember, this all came about late and really fast but a lot of teams already had their budget set. Look at for an example of how many entries they have for the promods distributed between 3 classes this last race! NHRA couldn't even come close. Then look at the entry list for T/F Harley. Word is travelling fast! This is such a diverse variety that many may like instead of the typical cookie cutter event. I think that once Darryl starts his next phase meaning marketing this whole thing, It's gonna fill the stands. Not only does he have a plan, he has a $hit ton of money to make it happen. Just my 2 pennnies.

I know Del is in Vegas, something came up last minute. And he has somebody making license runs on Monday.
Other than that, a lot of the Nitro cars that should be in IHRA are showing up.
That Fuel Harley group is really growing.
Wondering if it's the Location or teams were finally able to adjust their schedule to make it.

Del will still be in Galot. And Pomona. They sent rigs in both directions with 2 different cars. He and the team will be flying back and forth. It wasn’t as last minute as he made it seem, he told me his plan at Dragway 42.

Lots of IHRA talk at Vegas. Spent more time talking to crews than watching racing. If Darryl has a points fund, mid and lower tier cars will follow. Looking forward to being at Galot on Friday.

The reason for the name change has been thoroughly debated and sorry if anyone missed it.
The response from Josh isn’t disrespectful or anything near. I agree with his comments.
I think the OC has an issue with the IHRA. Consistently criticizing

we have all grown up going to dragstrips. guess what, drag strips all have unique names. so when someone buys a bunch of them
and gives them all the same name, it is human nature to question why. if every mcdonalds in a metropolitan area changed it's name
to something unique, do you not think people would want to know why?
look at the link in post #29 of this thread ....... The Pro lineup* is locked in for the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series at Darana Motorsports Park – Dunn (formerly GALOT Motorsports Park).
