OK Just talked to Jack again (Sunday 10AM) He finished his license and he comfirmed that he is taking over DSR. He will be driving the ARMY car and the BRUT car in Reading. He has his Super Comp car being delivered to Dallas, so either Tony or Ron will have their car back that weelend (depending on which car Jack likes better). In Richmond he is planning to shake down a new S&S Buell for G2, then it's off to Fontana For the Sports Nats where he will Drive Ashley Force's car (She has a Spa Day planned). In Las Vegas Jack will drive the ARMY car on Friday to qualify it and then Tony will race it Saturday in the Bud Shootout. Jack said he really didn't want to give up the car on Saturday, but Tony promised to give him 75% of what he wins as a bonus, so he agreed. He is planning to take Pomona and make his ESPN debut and then spend the winter weighing his options for next year.

That's the latest as I understand it.

Now that thar is funny;). I guess Fast Jack will just have to get his jet dragster liscense next.
D

he is going to be testing in a jr. dragster also!!!!:D with marlbor sponsorship on one side and miller beer on the other side.;)

I wonder what Matco thinks about this?? If Matco's driver is Whit, I will be shocked to see him out of a Matco ride this year. We will wait and see.

Nothing against Jack, but it sucks for Whit that it looks like he won't be finishing out the year.

Just picked my jaw up off the floor....

Whit... Gonna miss ya the rest of the season... and that's comin' from a Force fan... Hurry back... after all, they're driver points, not car owner points... which means... Hey DEL W... put Whit in your car the rest of the season!!!!!

What I posted was what Jack told me. He also told me some other things "off the record" so I didn't share that with you. Even Geiger says it's not a done deal yet. So if it's not a done deal today, it certainly wasn't yesterday.

There is a lot going on behind the scenes that you don't know. When it happens (or doesn't happen) you'll find out. Anybody remember the Rickie Smith-Shaun Carlson deal? It ain't done until it's done.

Alan

What I really find interesting about that is just last week I read this interview on Competitionplus.com and thought to myself that it was very professional of Whit to give the courtesy to DSR of not just bailing out on them..............kind of sucks to kick him to the curb just when the team is in a position to win some races......................

COMPPLUS: Let’s back up. Is it Matco that wants you there, or Powers that wants you there, or both?

BAZEMORE: I would assume both. I think all parties are interested in having me there, but I’m not there yet. I’ve had a very good six years with Don (Schumacher), and I don’t think that it would be completely fair of me to just bolt right away. If Don is interested in retaining me I’d like to give him some time to find the financing for this car, but how much time that is I don’t know.

I'm with Alan. Jack said pretty much the samething to me on the phone sunday night. He felt there was some stuff in the brew but as Alan said, its not a done deal:D

This is wild stuff. I don't blame Matco for moving to Top Fuel. They probably just want to be part of the "tool wars" with Snap-On and Mac. I feel:cool: bad for Whit. Cars have been parked before the end of the season but usually for funding reasons. I don't remember anything like this happening before. Like Alan said, there's a lot going on we don't know and probably never will but I'd sure like to.

Anybody want to drive a F/C? Just bring a few more dollars and the previous driver will be promptly dismissed (or moved into an engineering position?)
