JFR can win the early races and DSR/the rest of the field will take the race wins at the end of the year. You don't win the big prize by dominating early in the year, it all matters how you do in the Countdown. Want to take bets that the DSR & Cruz will not be in the middle of the championship 6 months from now?

There's not doubt that Don's a smart guy, but this CC acquisition is a bit of a head-scratcher for me. That's all I'm saying....

I didn't say other teams wouldn't be competitive, what I asked was why did any mention of JFR show up in this thread at all? Only reason for JFR haters to mention what happened in the past is because so far this season it's been all JFR....:cool:
 
That's what my whole issue with the countdown is. There is FAR LESS weight on the mishaps of teams now than it used to be. Beckman is still championship bound, Hagan is still championship bound, even alBalooshi is. This year I am already not gonna be cool with the countdown. This is no longer a sport where you have to do well over the entire tour, now you can just hang in there just enough and only have to perform for 6 races to really try and compete for what matters. In every class if you win 8-11 rounds you could make the countdown and win a title when before 8-11 rounds you would be out of it. Get rid of this countdown. We got teams winning titles that they normally never would and we got teams the kick ass all year long getting bad luck at the worst time and losing everything as well as the guy who enters the countdown 11th and can win all 6 races, and still finish 11th! Also, ask the fans in Brainerd how they like watching the pre-countdown test.

Every team that won a title any year under any system is championship caliber. I never once said any team was not championship caliber, I said teams are winning championships under the countdown when their precountdown season and certainly precountdown all together would of never been able to even have a chance at the title. I am not implying any team of being not of championship caliber cause they all are, even Haddock or Bode are no matter if they are running the huge e.t.s I am sure they run their programs as well as the best. I am saying that (you want specifics, i'll give you specifics) I am not taking anything away from them they played by the rules and are champions. Matt Hagan would of lost the title to Mike Neff by 118 points under the old system and 2010 he would of lost the title by 106 points.

My point is they deserve the title cause they played by the rules and won, but as a fan I miss the days where a DNQ was disasterous, now it's just a little sting. A Champion is someone who should have to conquer everyone and conquering everyone in 6/23 races and doing just ok the other 17 is not absolutely dominating

Paging through my copy of CFO Magazine last night, I was surprised and pleased to see an action photo of the "Valvoline/NextGen Dodge Funny Car"
on page 38

The article was a feature about Safety-Kleen's CFO and their supply relationship with Valvoline.

Nice exposure for NHRA Drag Racing to a, fairly high-end, demographic.

I'm not a CFO (nor did I sleep at Holiday Inn Express last night) not that there's anything wrong with 'em. Been getting the magazine for years (for free). I market my services to CFOs (when I'm able).

You guys still reading Larry Flynt's magazine? Haven't you heard about the Internet? They show EVERYTHING there...:)
